    Handy Tip of the Month:Leadership:

The following are nine simple leadership tips. These tips can be used right away. They can be reviewed with your team and discussed during staff meetings. How can they make you better leaders? We can look for examples where we can apply each one and how it makes a difference.1 – Vision, beliefs, purpose, values, hopes, dreams – these are the pillars of leadership. When leading with these one lifts up people around them and get results. Replace trivial things with these pillars and inspire people.2 – Lead by example – one can do what they say and carry out the task. Model the behaviors that are wanted. Live the values. One can earn trust over time, leading with character.3 – Good things happen when you engage others, help others win and lead with humility.4 – Don’t look inward , one can lose focus as a leader when you focus on you. Leadership is about the people you lead. Focus on your people and vision. Look outward..5 – Love people – love translates through all platforms. It’s universal. People need to know you care. Show them.6 – Develop the people who work for you, don’t do everything for them – leadership isn’t about doing everything for your people. It’s about developing them and teaching them how to lead.7 – When you get comfortable start asking questions – complacency and comfort are a warning sign you need to start asking questions. Challenge things. Start asking why. Why do we do it this way? Embrace challenge and change. Challenge yourself. Complacency and comfort don’t make things move forward. Get uncomfortable.8 – Take your people somewhere – the goal of leadership is to take your followers somewhere. Somewhere significant and that matters. Somewhere that makes a difference. 9 – Simplify the complex – we live in a complex environment. The pace of work is fast. It’s global in nature. What used to take weeks now takes minutes. People like things simple, therefore making things as simple as possible really help. Great leaders can take complex issues and strategies and break them down so people understand them.

Did you know?Goldman Sachs, a leading multinational investment bank, included Bangladesh in its

‘Next 11’ after the BRIC nations (Brazil, Russia, India and China), which identified countries that may have the potential one day to emulate the BRIC nations who are

forecasted to rival developed economies. Goldman Sachs evaluated the countries on the basis of macroeconomic stability, political maturity, education, openness of trade and

    investment regulation.

We offer the deepest sympathies and condolences to all members of the A.K. Khan family on this sensitive day (28th of August), which brought sadness and grief to many around us. Our

prayers and heartfelt condolences go out to everyone.-AKTL Staff Members-
