The required FitnessGram Training will continue in September and wrap up in October. Don’t miss your opportunity to attend this mandated annual fitness assessment program. If you will remember from last month’s newsletter this training is a require-ment mandated for all first through twelfth graders enrolled in P.E. classes that are taught by certified P.E. teachers. In order to administer the fitness test, educators must attend a one day training session. SW GA RESA will host the FitnessGram training to assist P.E. and Health teachers (or others designated for this responsibility) to prepare for the new fitness testing requirement. Teachers will need to choose one of the three dates for elemen-tary or middle/high sessions and register through RESA. Twenty participants per date are required for GaDOE to provide a trainer.

Participants will learn about the key foundation skills and concepts for success in mathematics. They will also review a range of helpful internet resources for school-based math assessment and interven-tion.
