All of us involved with Happy Hollow would like to thank Kevin Allender for his three years of dedication and support to the organization and the campers we serve. We wish him the best in his new position and endeavors in Cincinnati. With this said, we would like to welcome our new Development Director, Jennifer Dant, who has had a long history of fundraising, event planning, com-munity involvement, and brings with here the expertise of continuing to strengthening the development portion of our organization. We believe these are extremely important assets that she has and that they will continue to provide Happy Hollow with a strong backing of support. Over the past couple of years through camper/ parent surveys, and board assess-ments of the camp activities, it was determined we needed to re-instate our High Ropes program and refurbish our Archery program. In May of 2010, these dreams became a reality through an anonymous contribution and a Lilly Pro-gram Grant that enabled us to construct a new ropes course and an archery range. These activities challenged campers to new heights, developing and strengthening skills such as overcoming fear, developing self-esteem, confidence, teamwork, trust, and decision-making. As most of you are aware, 98% of our campers attend Happy Hollow Camp on a scholarship. Due to the economy, we have encountered high enrollments over the past couple of years. However, Camp continues to thrive and has been fortunate enough to have donors that stepped up their contributions in support of our cur-rent needs. Donors not only contributed to the scholarship program but also made restricted contributions to our endowment program that will help meet the needs in the future. People are what support Happy Hollow Camp. First, a special thanks to the summer staff that provided the guidance and supervision to all of the campers in attendance this summer. Without this special group, camp would not have been the success that it was. Secondly, thanks to all of the volunteers, a record number of volunteers and volunteer hours have been provided this year, and a lot of projects have been completed or are currently in progress that have saved the camp a tremendous amount of expense. Last but not least, thanks to all of the donors who have very generously supported Happy Hollow Camp this year. Yours in Camping, Bernard Schrader Executive Director

Remember Happy Hollow Children’s Camp with a Year-End Gift Our donors are truly the heart of the support system that sustains our mission—to

give economically disadvantaged children an opportunity to attend a summer camp where they can learn and have fun in a safe, supervised setting.

We count on your generosity all year long, but in these challenging times, your support is even more crucial than ever. Since 1951, more than 31,000 Central Indiana children have made the trip over winding Brown County roads to experience the adventures awaiting them at Happy Hollow. As the summer comes to an end, please consider a year-end gift that will help that legacy endure. Thank you for your kind support and continuing commitment to Happy Hollow.
