August 2006 Financial Report
Attention: This report reflects only what was received by the BBA during the reported month. Churches contribute however they choose, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually.
This year it will be held at the KEMP BAPTIST CHURCH on OCTOBER 16-17. The Monday night meeting will begin at 6:45 with a pre-session concert with Daniel Wesley and his brothers. A delicious supper is planned for Tuesday evening beginning at 6:00. Charles Loyd will deliver the annual sermon. We hope to see good representation from all our churches. Please pray for the Lord to be honored in all we do.
A very special event will take place on Tuesday, November 14th at 6:30pm during the BGCO State Convention. It will be a huge rally at the First Southern Baptist Church of Del City in which thousands of Oklahoma Baptists will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the BGCO. Every Southern Baptist Church in Oklahoma is asked to be represented. Part of the program will be a parade of flags in which representatives from each association will be a part. It’s going to be an outstanding and awe-inspiring time. We as Bryan countians will not want to miss it. Let me encourage you to begin now to enlist a large number from your church to attend. You’ll be hearing much more about this in your BAPTIST MESSENGER during the Annual Meeting and by correspondence. What a privilege it is for me to serve as your Director of Missions. May God’s great King-dom continue to come and His will be done among us.

The ministries of the BCM at Southeastern Oklahoma State Univer-sity are up and running for the 2006-2007 school year. The South-eastern campus continues to grow, with the addition of a new stu-dent union opening at Homecoming in just a few weeks, and sev-eral hundred more students living in the dorms. The BCM is grow-ing too. We have had a huge increase in our weekly Worship ser-vice attendance this semester more than doubling our average of 50 from last year. We have had over 100 students in four of the first five weeks of school and had a high attendance of 134. Noonday is thriving as we have been blessed with delicious meals from several Association Churches already this semester. More and more stu-dents, faculty, and staff are coming each week. We are hosting a party every Monday night with live music and free food…and Monday Night Football. I am most excited about a new ministry we are beginning this year. “Roots Groups” are small student-led groups intended to serve as lifestyle discipleship training for student leaders and other students. Students meet with each other around a meal once a week and talk about life, God, and how the two go hand in hand. We are blessed to have over 20 Roots Group leaders with over 70 involved weekly. This ministry has the potential to set us up to reach and involve more and more students in discipleship. Please pray that Roots Groups would bring glory to God and help students become fully devoted followers of Christ.
Physically we have made a huge improvement to the functionality and appearance of the building. Over the summer we added a huge wrap around deck that will serve as a meeting place for students, a place to have lunch on nice days, and a place to host special events. On that note, the SOSU BCM will be hosting an “All Decked Out” Tailgate Party come and go on the new deck on Saturday October 14th from 11:30-1:00. We would like to invite all SOSU BCM alumni and all of Bryan Baptist Association to this special event. A light lunch will be provided. Please consider attending and participating in all of the Southeastern Homecoming festivities on that Saturday.
Above: 20 SOSU Students attended Glorieta Student Week this summer. Thanks to everyone who contributes to student work at the Southeastern BCM for making this trip possible! You are doing a great job Moving LIVES Forward!
