new grade level.

FastWeb is 34 million students strong and growing. They’re recom-mended by more than 16,000 high schools—and for good reason. Last year, one out of three college-bound high school seniors used FastWeb to find money for school and get advice on everything from what major to choose to what to pack for your dorm room.

They’re the leading Internet schol-arship search - they’ll help you find a scholarship to pay for school and let you know what to expect when you get there.

To register visit their website at www.fastweb.com. Find the registra-

tion button in the top lefthand corner. You will fill out many questions about yourself and family - what grade are you in, what school you attend, ethnic background, etc. Some of the ques-tions will seem unrelated to college - hobbies, illnesses you suffer from, organizations your parents belong to, etc. This is because there are scholar-ships out there benefitting students who have asthma, ADHD, or support students who skateboard! With 1.5 million scholarships the possibility some will apply to you are very good. So the more details you can give them the more scholarships they will find for you.

Hats off to these dedicated stu-dents! Keep up the good work.

Be in school, on time, every day.

Use your planner to track assign-ments, appointments and tests.

Create a study plan. Know what time of day you are at your best and mark that as your study time.

Set personal and academic goals.

Know your school’s rules and academic requirements, includ-ing attendance and graduation policies.

Adapt to different teachers. Know each teacher’s rules and follow them. Participate in class.

Take good notes. Listen and think about what your teacher

is saying. Review notes after class.

Studying and homework are different. Homework you turn in. Studying is your process of getting information to stick in your mind like reading, outlin-ing important information from a chapter or re-writing notes. Study a little each day even if you have no homework.

Get involved in school activi-ties.

Make sure your decisions are consistent with your values and goals.

Get help when you need it.

Plan and prepare for the future.

Always try your best.
