The Augenstein Alumni Center

BUILDING OUR FUTURE

The Augenstein Alumni Center is a place that

brings the history and traditions of the University to

life and instills the WKU Spirit in future generations of

Hilltoppers.

Your participation in the Alumni Center Campaign

is essential. From Donor Wall pledges fulfilled for as lit-

tle as $17 per month to naming opportunities through-

out the facility, we hope you will take part in this

exciting project.

Dale Augenstein (’81)

President 2011 - 2012

WKU Alumni Association National Board of Directors

&

Chair of the Alumni Center Fundraising Campaign

Owner of Steamer Seafood, Hilton Head Island, SC

“Each day our alumni are becoming more integrally involved in the life of

WKU. Alumni serve on committees, recruit students, provide expertise on

new initiatives and contribute their time and financial resources. Yet, our

campus does not have a place for us to call home. The Alumni Association

is pleased to truly create a focal point for our alumni and visitors to enjoy.”

WKU Gateway to Downtown Bowling Green

Block 12 - Parking Structure with Residential and Commercial Wrap

Additional development on the block includes a parking garage, residential units, retail space and inviting public space.

The garage holds more than 450 vehicles, as well as office space for the WKU Police Department. Apartment living, as well

as a market, coffee shop and WKU Store location wrap the parking garage, providing an attractive and inviting environment

for residents and visitors alike.

Block 12 of the TIF (Tax Incremental Fi-

nancing) District sits next to the WKU campus

and is defined as the area bordered by Center

Street, 14th Street, Kentucky Street and 13th

Street. The Augenstein Alumni Center is the

centerpiece of the Gateway and creates a hub

for activity adjacent to the campus. The Gate-

way provides a perfect blend with other quality

of life enhancements, such as the Bowling

Green Ballpark, Southern Kentucky Perform-

ing Arts Center and Circus Square Park.
