Message from the

Vice Principal

Message from the Directors Looking back over twenty-five years of Bay View Academy, one can’t

help but feel nostalgic. When we run into former colleagues or ex-

students, it is only natural to reminisce about how things used to be. The

old “cozy” school began in a house in Clifton, expanded into three

different buildings before finally moving into our purpose-built campus in

Phase VIII.

Today our Board of Directors has expanded to include a new generation

of family members. We have combined their energy with our experience

to establish campuses in Clifton and PECHS. Key educational leaders,

who have grown professionally with us over the last decade, support

these directors and provide the continuity in our approach and

philosophy. Therefore, as we grow we continue to focus on our core

values: the care and growth of our students.

However, its also important to remember that we can only continue in

our mission by constantly reevaluating ourselves, learning from the world

around us and, always, moving forward.

As we successfully complete our first year at the

P.E.C.H.S branch of Bay View Academy, I

would like to thank my entire team for rising to

the challenge and working hard to meet the

enormous expectations that are associated with

any new venture. The spirit of teamwork, one of

the hallmarks of our school, was evident in the

invaluable guidance, help and support we got

throughout the year from our colleagues in

Defence and Clifton. None of this could have

been possible without them. I would also like to

appreciate the parent body for strengthening our

small community with their unwavering

patience and cooperation. I wish you all happy

holidays and look forward to welcoming you

back in August.

A much-awaited event in the Second Term is the Pre-

Primary Section's Sing Along, an occasion which provides our youngest students with the chance to take to the stage and surprise everyone with their

immense self-confidence and talent.

Rehearsals start as early as January with both

students and teachers working side

by side to make it all happen. On the final day, it is wonderful to see all

those hours of practice come together in a

colourful and lively display of song, dance

and action.

Activity Day 29th November 2015

Sing Along 7th April 2016

Activity Day is a non-competitive event

where the emphasis is on participation rather than winning or losing.

Children are engaged throughout the day in fun-filled activities which showcase their

agility, determination and athletic prowess.

Balloons, music & cheers of excitement from the audience add to the festive atmosphere and perhaps the best part of all

is how at the end of the day, every child goes home a winner.

Our Annual Primary Sports Day took place

on 13th December 2015. The interactive format of this event which was introduced

some years ago, proved to be successful yet again.

There was an interesting mélange of field activities in which all the students participated

enthusiastically. Everyone was treated to an

exciting display of healthy competition and

teamwork, as all three Houses battled for victory.

It turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable event for all present, with Orange House

emerging as victors on the day.

Talent Week 3rd March 2016

Talent Week is always an exciting time on the

school’s calendar of events. It is an opportunity for the hidden talents of many to surge to the forefront.

Every year brings with it a fresh new wave of entertaining and talented performers. This year was no exception as the students of Kindergarten, Class I,

Class II and Class III gave some commendable performances. It never ceases to amaze one, how

these young students perform with such confidence and poise in front of an audience.

Credit goes to both our students and teachers for

all their hard work and perseverance.

RENOVATION OF THE

NEW CAMPUS

The summer of 2015 bore witness to the metamorphosis of an old structure from an office building into the new campus

we see today. Faced with the uphill task of accomplishing a major transformation in the span of just two months, a crew

of determined workers laboured tirelessly around the clock, under the guidance of one of our school directors, Adil

Sheikh, who oversaw the whole project. Thanks to their efforts, work was completed on schedule and the new facility opened its doors in August 2015.
