Our condolences to the Gabrosek family in Wadsworth as their patriarch passed away September 23. Joe Gabrosek was a tremendously kind man, very proud of his Slovenian heritage, and partnered with my father for 25 years on the Polka Time Again program. He was 95 years young. Our thoughts and prayers to them during this difficult time. Wadsworth lost another prominent citizen, far too young, when Gregg Townsend, WHS class of 1983 passed away September 16. Gregg was very active in Boy Scouts and played football for the Grizzlies and Akron University. He will be sorely missed in the community. Congratulations to seniors Thomas Matz and Julia Conrad, who were named Students of the Month at Buckeye High School for September! Click HERE to read more about their accomplishments! Congratulations to young Avery Pesto, of Medina, for keeping calm, cool and collected when her younger brother recently had a seizure, while her Mom was at a local drive through. While mom Katie Shaffer attended to her younger brother, Avery called 911 at the direction of her mother. Avery, a 2nd grader at Wadsworth Sacred Heart, said she learned all about how to use 911 at Safety Town. STORY Congratulations to Brunswick High School Girls Soccer coach Scott Ward on his 100th win with the Blue Devils program! Outstanding accomplishment! Congratulations to Brunswick City Schools 4th grade teacher Rhonda Collis , who was selected as the Hickory Ridge Elementary School Teacher of the Year! Ryan Halko was the BEAT reporter telling us the STORY. Welcome to fall, my favorite time of the year! Hope you have an outstanding week!
