Lesson Two
Dialogue: The recorded conversation between two or more people
to be used for a video/film production or play.
In short films/movies, dialogue must mimic the personality or character type. For example, a college student may talk differently than a store clerk or a police officer. Such characters take on a certain tone, but it is very important to get the rhythm of dialogue to fit well within a short film or video.

TV Style Scripting Format: Usually two columns broken into Visual and Audio. Used for commercials, talk-shows, news, sitcoms and infomercials. This format is used when the time usage is more critical. Breaks the film style more into VIDEO perspective shots (medium, long and close-ups) and the AUDIO segments (sound fx and the various character dialogues). This also assists in the creation of a storyboard to accompany the screenplay to help sell the project to a prominent producer. This is the second or latter phase for a screenplay before it goes into final video production.
Movie Style Scripting Format: Used for creating short films and movies.
Other film style components --
Slug Line (beginning of each scene location + time of day)
Sound Effects Line (sound fx such as screeching car tires)
Dialogue Direction Line (direction on the tone of a dialogue such as politeness, angry, shouting, smug, etc.)
Scene Description Lines (setting up what the characters are doing before their dialogue takes place)
