Gaudete Sunday

A reminder of the glad tidings!

December 17, 2017

EXCLUSIVE FROM OUR PARISH: Each day during Advent, our

website is featuring a new reading, meditation, and action

created by our own pastoral staff. Visit www.steas.net or follow

us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Read, download, and

share online. Today’s offering is included inside on page 3. No

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the

Lord has anointed me; he has sent me to bring glad

tidings . . . “

Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of God's purposes even

before the foundations of the world were laid. Jesus is

the fulfillment of Old Testament promises that span

hundreds of years. Jesus, in turn, shows us who God

is. No wonder the theme at Mass this Sunday is

Rejoice! We are the recipients of something so big and

wonderful that understanding takes a back seat to the

simple emotion of joy.

priests from their pulpits and putting them on the

spot for a chance to be stumped by Millennials. Be

sure to prepare your most challenging questions

on faith and reason to this courageous panel of

clergy. With any luck, a special guest appearance

by the Diocese of Harrisburg seminarians will

make this event even more thought-provoking.

Priests to be stumped include Very Reverend Paul

M. Clark, and Reverends Joshua R. Brommer,

Donald H. Bender Jr., and Brian J. Wayne. Join

Theology on Tap on Thursday, December 21 on

the 2nd floor of Capital Gastropub, 310 N. 2nd

building of a culture of life from conception to

natural death. Those who are not able to attend

the annual March for Life in Washington are

especially encouraged to attend. Reverend Paul

Schenck is celebrant and homilist. All are

welcome! For additional information contact the
