    Applicants who would liketo enroll in non-credit lawsubject may be admitted asspecial students and mayenroll in such as approvedby the Dean. He shall notbe allowed to enroll in morethan six (6) units persemester and must limit his

    enrollment to not more thanfour (4) consecutivesemesters. At any case,subjects taken shall not becredited.

    Law School AdmissionTest (LSAT)

    A requirement foradmission to the Arellano

    School of Law. Theexamination will beadministered everySaturday, in ArellanoSchool of Law, Taft Avenuecorner Menlo St., PasayCity.

    The LSAT consists of threeparts namely: 1) AptitudeTest; 2) Essay Exam; 3)Interview. The LSAT isdesigned to measurecertain abilities & skillsnecessary to succeed inthe School of Law.

    TRANSFER STUDENTS

    Transfer students may beaccepted for enrollment inthe first three (3) years ofthe four (4) year programand the first three and ahalf (3 1/2) years of the five(5) year program providedthat they meet the currentGeneral Weighted Average(GWA) and other

    SCHEDULE OF CLASSES

    1.

    2.Regular classes are heldfrom Monday toFriday from 5:30 to9:30 p.m.

    3.Executive Classes areheld on Saturdaysand Sundays from8:00 a.m. to 9:00p.m.

    4.METHOD OF

    INSTRUCTION

    The Socratic Method orquestion-and-answermethod shall be theprincipal method of instruction used in theclassroom to enablestudents to think clearlyunder pressure, to learn toanalyze problem situations

    and develop in them acritical attitude towards thesubject matter beingdiscussed. Discussions,recitations and lecturesmay sometimes be used asadditional methods ofinstruction.

    English shall be generallyused as the medium of

    instruction.

    LATE REGISTRATION

    The regular enrollmentperiod is scheduled beforeclasses begin. Lateregistration in normallyallowed during the firstfifteen (15) calendars daysfrom the official start of

    regular classes, unless

    otherwise announced.

    A student shall not beallowed to enroll in anysubject after fifteen (15)

    days from the official startof regular student classesunless authorized by theDean on the basis of thestudent's scholastic record.

    A fine shall be imposed forlate registration.

    CHANGING, TRANSFER& ADDING OF SUBJECTS

    Students who are officiallyenrolled shall not beallowed to change subjectsor transfer to another classexcept when the originalsubject(s) enrolled hasbeen dissolved or due tocauses not attributable tothe fault of the student.Adding of subject shall only

    be entertained within fifteen(15) days from the start ofregular classes, professorshopping is not allowed.

    DROPPING OFSUBJECTS

    1.Dropping of subjects mayonly be allowed atleast ten (10) days

    before thescheduled mid-termexaminationssubjects to theapproval of theprofessor and theDean. Thereafter,dropping shall beallowed only frommeritorious reasons.Complete withdrawal

    of all the subjects atany time within a

    given semester shallonly be allowed forjustifiable reasonsubject to theapproval of the

    professor concernedand the Dean.

    2.When a student registers,it is understood thathe is enrolling for theentire semester. Astudent whotransfers or otherwise withdraws,in writing, within two

    weeks after thebeginning of classesand who has alreadypaid thecorresponding tuitionand other schoolfees in full or for anyperiod longer thanone month may becharged 10% of thetotal amount due forthe term if hewithdraws within thefirst week of classes,or 20% if hewithdraws within thesecond week of theclasses, regardlessof whether he hascharged of all theschool fees in full or

    not. If he withdrawsany time after thesecond week ofclasses, he may becharged all theschool fees for theentire semester.However, if thetransfer or withdrawal is due tojustifiable reasons,

    as certified by theDean, the student

    shall be charged theproportionate feesonly up to andincluding the lastmonth of

    attendance.

    ATTENDANCEREQUIREMENTS

    1.Any student, who, duringthe semester,exceeds themaximum number ofabsences, whetherexcused or

    unexcused, shall bedropped from thesubject concerned ifhe has incurred:

    1. 24 hours of absences in a6 unit subject

    2. 20 hours of

    absences in a5 unit subject

    3. 16 hours of absences in a4 unit subject

    4. 12 hours of absences in a3 unit subject

    5. 8 hours of absences in a2 unit subject

    6. 4 hours of absences in a1 unit subject

    3.4.Tardiness of fifteen (15)

    minutes shall beconsidered as anabsence.

    5.Time lost by lateenrolment shall beconsidered as time

    lost by absence.

    6.Excuse from anyabsence does notabsolve the student

    from compliancewith any subjectrequirement.

    7.Students who aredropped from therols due toexcessive absencesshall be given agrade of 65 in thesaid subject.

    GRADING SYSTEM

    1.The system of grading tobe used shall benumericalpercentage values(65%, 75%, 78%,85%, etc.).

    2.The grade of incomplete

    (INC) is given to thestudent whose classstanding is passingbut fails to take thefinal examination ormeet other requirements for thecourse due to illnessor other validreasons. If the classstanding is not

    passing and thestudents fails to takethe finalexaminations, thestudent is given agrade of 65%. Allstudents receivingINC within theprescribed period oftime shall mean anautomatic 65%grade in the subject.The completion

    examination may betaken withoutpayment of feesduring the regularexamination period

    in the succeedingsemester.

    3.The final grade shall becomputed byassigning thefollowing values:

    2. Mid-term exams --30%

    5.6.The professor may adopt

    his own system ofcomputing the finalgrade but thestudents must beinformed of the said

    system at thebeginning of thesemester.

    7.Removal examination arenot allowed by theschool.

    8.Rules on reconsiderationof grades

    1. Requests for reconsideration of gradesmust be inwriting,addressed tothe Dean, andmust bemade withintwo (2) weeksafter releaseof said gradesby the office

    of theregistrar.Such requestforreconsideratio

    n shall bereferred to theprofessorconcerned forrecommendation prior tothe Dean'saction therein.

    2. Students arestrictly

    prohibitedfromcommunicating directly withtheprofessors,verbally orthroughanybody,regarding anyrequest forreconsideration. Violationthereof shallbe reportedby theprofessor tothe Dean andshall meanautomaticdenial of the

    request.

    GENERAL WEIGHTEDAVERAGE (GWA)

    The GWA is the average ofgrades in all subjectstaken, whether passed orfailed, in AUSL or other lawschools, except as may beprovided herein. A student

    who fails to obtain therequired GWA, as herein

    below indicated, may bedenied re-enrollment.

    A student is consideredentering a particular level if

    he has taken and passed atleast 80% of the totalnumber of units in theprevious year level basedon the AUSL curriculum.For purposes only ofcomputing the GWA, anygrade below 68% shall becomputed as if it were 68%.The grades actuallyreceived by a student as

    recorded in the RegistrarsOffice shall not be alteredin any manner.

    A student who repeats FirstYear shall be consideredas a new student for purposes of computing theGWA.

    A failing grade in a subject

    included in the first two (2)years of the four-year lawprogram and the first twoand a half (2 ) years ofthe five year program maybe excluded from thecomputation of the GWA ifthe student is allowed to re-enroll the subject andpasses the same with thegrade of at least 80%.

    A student must possess therequired GWA of at least79% in order to beconsidered for graduation.

    The GWA at present for allyear levels is 79%.However, effective AY2005-2006, the GWA for allfreshmen students andtransferees shall be 80%.

    SCHOLASTICDEFICIENCY RULE

    A student may be deniedreadmission in any of the

    following cases:

    1.2.Failure to meet the GWA.3.4.Failure to pass the least

    50% of theacademic unitsenrolled in anysemester.

    5.If, being on probation,fails in any of thesubjects he is taking.Any student whofails in the least 35%of the units he istaking in anysemester shall beplaced on probation.

    6.

    ADDITIONALREQUIREMENT

    No student may be allowedto take any review subjectwithout having taken andcompleted allundergraduate subjects.

    LEAVE OF ABSENCES

    Permission for prolongedleave of absence must besought from the Dean. Theperiod of the leave may notexceed one year at anyone time. Students whosetotal cumulative leaves ofabsence exceed foursemester shall not beallowed to re-enroll in theCollege.

    MAXIMUM RESIDENCE

    semestersHONORABLE DISMISSAL

    Any student who desires tosever his relations with theCollege shall file anapplication for HonorableDismissal and shall securethe necessary clearancebefore favorable actionmay be made.

    HONORS & AWARDS

    Student who complete theircourses with the followingminimum weighted averagegrade shall with honors.

    1.Summa Cum Laude

    3.Magna Cum Laude5.Cum Laude

    Other honors and awardsmay be given to deservingstudents.

    TUITION & OTHER FEES

    1.Tuition fee rates in theArellano Law Schoolshall be assessed

    per unit of academicsubjects enrolled ina semester of anygiven school year.

    2.The tuition fee rate of astudent shall bebased on the schoolyear in which thestudent enteredArellano Law

    School, whether asa new student or as

    a transferee. It shallremain the tuitionfee rate of the saidstudent for as longas he/she is enrolled

    in the law school,except in caseswhere there is aneed for Management toincrease tuition fees.For purposes ofcontrol, the year firstenrolled in, asindicated in thepermanent student

    number of thestudent shall beused.

    3.For each school year,Management shallnormally increasetuition fees in thefirst year for newstudents andtransferees.However, shouldthere be need for thelaw School toincrease tuition feesrates for oldstudents, then saidtuition fees ratesshall be increased inaccordance with theguidelines issued by

    the Commission onHigher Education.

    4.For the School Year2010-2011, thetuition fee rates forall First Year Student andtransferees shall beTWO THOUSAND(P2,000.00) Pesos

    fee rates of oldstudents, meaningincoming second,third and fourth ratesfor the current

    Students with an annualcumulative weightedaverage of at least 85%shall likewise be given

    tuition fee discounts.Alumni of ArellanoUniversity shall be given20% discount. Relatives offaculty members andemployees up to the 3rdcivil degree shall be given60% discount.

    The Foundation also givesscholarships to top or

    deserving applicants.
