PRECAUTIONS FOR FROME LIVESTOCK MARKET

We can confirm that our Markets for most classes of Stock will continue as normal until further

notice. Although please note some changes: -

With immediate effect it has been implemented a “Drop and Go” Policy for Vendors bringing

Stock to market for Sale.

VENDORS

“Drop and Go” Policy ONLY

MUST NOT enter the Livestock Buildings.

Deliver stock to the unloading bays (remaining in their vehicles whilst market staff

unload the vehicle and take the animals to their pens).

The sale documentation MUST be collected by the Auctioneers or Staff from the

Vendors vehicles when they arrive at the unloading bays – Vendors MUST NOT take

the paperwork to the market office themselves, or enter the market Penning area for

any reason.

Unfortunately, if we want to stay in business and protect everyone from the virus we need to

implement these restrictions NOW.

BUYERS

The number of buyers MUST be restricted to allow social distancing (2 meters between each

buyer). At the conclusion of the sale buyers MUST enter the Sales Office in a way that does not

result in too many entering at any one time.

BREEDING STOCK

Please contact us regarding any breeding stock that you may have, we will continue to compile

lists for when this period of uncertainty is over. However in the meantime please contact.

We must follow government guidelines at all times, so recommend that the over 70’s, those

with underlying health issues, pregnant women and children DO NOT VISIT the market at this

time. Security measures at all entrances will be in place to monitor this.

Please can we urge all Buyers attending sales to use hand washing/sanitation facilities

provided. Rest assured we are following and adhering to ALL government and medical advice

and under those current guidelines, there is no reason for us to cancel or postpone sales at this

time. But we ask that you ALL remember the simple rule and take social distancing seriously.

MARKET LAIRAGE

NO Market Lairage will be available on the evening prior to the sale, until further

notice

Market Gates Open at 6.30 am – Please get your stock to market EARLY

TOILET FACILITIES

The ONLY Toilets available on site are the ones located in the Main Market Car Park.

Please can I ask that everyone bears with our staff who are working incredibly hard under

added pressures.

We are constantly monitoring Government reports to keep you updated with any changes, we

will act accordingly if required, so please note that arrangements may change at short notice.

Livestock Markets are a vital part of the National Food Chain and the rural economy and we will

be doing everything possible to keep Frome Market OPEN. If everyone plays their role, we are

confident the crucial service provided by Livestock Markets will be permitted to continue.
