Auction Rules and Regulations

Auction Rules

Your personal bid number will be provided at check-in. You will need this bid number in order to place

bids in both the silent and live auctions.

Silent Auction

1. Please refer to this catalog for descriptions of the items, including any information necessary to

offer a bid. Additional items received after catalog publication will be included on an addendum

sheet available at the check-in table.

2. Each item will have a lot number listed on its own bidding sheet and will state at what time the

bidding for that item will close.

3. Bids must be legible with a bid number written next to the corresponding bid. If the bid number is

unable to be read, the next highest bid will be declared the winner.

4. To bid, enter your bid number on the next available blank line on the bid sheet. Each item will

have minimum bids and minimum raises on the bid sheet. You can always raise the bid by more

than the minimum rate.

5. After the silent auction closes, the bid on the bid sheet with the highest amount will be declared

the winner and entered at the cashier.

6. Check out will open at 9:45pm after all bids have been tallied. No one will be permitted in the

check-out area until 9:45pm.

Live Auction

1. The Live Auction will be held at the end of the evening.

2. To enter a bid, the bidder must raise their catalog high enough to attract the attention of the

auctioneer or a spotter.

3. The highest bid made prior to the auctioneer’s announcement of “going once, twice, SOLD!” will

win the live auction.

General Rules

1. The auction hosts reserve the right to amend the Evening Program or remove an item as

necessary.

2. All items are offered “as is.” Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the Youth Committee, or any

individual cannot assume responsibility for the authenticity or condition of any items offered.

Values indicated for the items are provided by the donor and are not warranted by the event hosts.

3. All sales are final; no refunds or exchanges allowed.

4. All certificates for items and services must be used before their expiration date.

5. Please consult your tax professional regarding any possible charitable deductions. Good

Shepherd Lutheran Church can only provide a statement of giving for checks placed in the

“Donation Jar” where no item or service has been received.

“Champagne” A $10 donation entitles you to a glass of champagne, a flashy piece of bling, and an entry

to win a beautiful Sterling Silver Bangle Bracelet with gold overlay valued at $650,

donated by Carolina Fine Jewelers. Enter as many times as you want; you do not need to
