Praise CH4 161 O God, our help in ages past

1. O God, our help in ages past,

our hope for years to come,

our shelter from the stormy blast,

and our eternal home!

2. Under the shadow of thy throne

thy saints have dwelt secure;

sufficient is thine arm alone,

and our defence is sure.

3. Before the hills in order stood,

or earth received her frame,

from everlasting thou art God,

to endless years the same. con’t over page

4. A thousand ages in thy sight

are like an evening gone;

short as the watch that ends the night

before the rising sun.

5. Time, like an ever-rolling stream,

bears all its sons away;

they fly forgotten, as a dream

dies at the opening day.

6. O God, our help in ages past,

our hope for years to come,

be thou our guard while troubles last,

and our eternal home.

Readings

Isaiah 65:17-22 Our Lady’s RC Church

Revelation 21:1-5 United Free Church

Sermon Rev Dr Rob Barlow

Praise CH528 Make me a channel of your peace

Make me a channel of your peace.

Where there is hatred let me bring your love;

where there is injury, your pardon, Lord;

and where there's doubt, true faith in you.

Oh, master, grant that I may never seek

so much to be consoled as to console;

to be understood as to understand;

to be loved, as to love with all my soul.

Make me a channel of your peace.

Where there's despair in life let me bring hope;

where there is darkness, only light;

and where there's sadness, ever joy.

Make me a channel of your peace.

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

in giving to all men that we receive;

and in dying that we're born to eternal life.

Offering to Lady Haig Fund

Prayers of Commitment and Intercession

Dr John Ferguson-Smith

Praise CH4 419 Thine be the glory during which flags are returned

Thine be the glory, risen, conquering Son,

Endless is the victory, thou o’er death hast won;

Angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away,

Kept the folded grave-clothes, where thy body lay.

Thine be the glory, risen, conquering Son,

Endless is the victory thou o’er death hast won.

Lo! Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb;

Lovingly He greets us, scatters fear and gloom;

Let the Church with gladness hymns of triumph

sing,

For her Lord now liveth; death hath lost its sting.

No more we doubt thee, glorious Prince of life;

Life is naught without thee: aid us in our strife;

Make us more than conquerors, through thy

deathless love:

Bring us safe through Jordan to thy home above.

Benediction Rev Dr Rob Barlow

CH4 703 (vs 1) God save the Queen

National Anthem (colour parties lower flag)

(at end of National Anthem flags are raised)

God save our gracious Queen,

Long live our noble Queen,

God save the Queen:

Send her victorious,

Happy and glorious,

Long to reign over us:

God save the Queen.

Colour parties leave followed by uniformed organisation.

Piper plays.
