To ask for someone’s opinion:

To express satisfaction:

To express indifference:

To form the past participle, take the infinitive (the form of the verb you find in the dictionary) and remove the –er and change it to –é.

•The first is part of the present tense of avoir.

•The second is the past participle of the verb you

want to put into the past.

Some French verbs have irregular past participles

They don’t follow a regular pattern. You will have to memorize them when you learn the verb.

Here are the past participles of some irregular verbs that you’ve already seen.

When you use the passé composé with adverbs such as trop, beaucoup, pas encore (not yet), bien (well), mal (badly), and déjà (already), place the adverb before the past participle of the verb.
