Attention! Fans of The Blood Factory: CREATE YOUR OWN SHORT FILM THIS JULY IN THE BLOOD FACTORY BOOTH AT COMIC CON. CONTEST RULES: Create your own short film, to be shot this July, at our booth at Comic-Con. Experience the bloodcurdling thrill of being a horror filmmaker. The rules are simple: conjure up a sixty-second, plot-driven scene with three characters or less. Keep your scene PG appropriate. Avoid nudity. Your scene’s strength should lie in its story. A lovely corpse will be a permanent fixture on the set where you’ll shoot. However, you’re not obligated to use the corpse as part of your scene (just don’t harm on any of the maggots devouring our friendly cadaver). So, fans, if you’re interested in participating in our fun-filled nightmare, all that’s required is that you sign a waiver (at the BF booth before you shoot). Those of you under eighteen years of age must have a parent sign for you (if your mom or dad objects, bribe them with the promise that you’ll never rip the wings off a butterfly). Multiple entries are allowed. For a brief time, you may even sign up at The Blood Factory booth. On Wednesday, July 28, 2010, all entries for the film contest will be posted on our website www.thebloodfactory.com. You’ll be able to search for your scene by the number given you on the day of the shoot. Voting for the five most popular scenes is open to everyone, so have your friends visit The Blood Factory website, even if you have to prompt them with a Taser, or a cattle prod. Stun those suckers into voting for you! Those whose scenes are in the top five will receive a free Blood Factory T-shirt. In addition, their scenes will be screened on our website after August 20th. Danny DeVito will then choose the best scene of the five. The winner will receive an invitation to lunch with Danny DeVito and John Albo on The Blood Factory set, and will be gifted with merchandise from our store. And horror fans, please visit The Blood Factory booth at Comic-Con. It’s going to pulsate with shivery excitement. • Frank Ippolito (effects makeup artist, “Pirates of the Caribbean” 2&3) will create horror makeup at the booth, Friday, July 23, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. • Then, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Danny DeVito and John Albo will sign The Blood Factory comic books and signature pages. • And that Friday night, July 23, room 5AB, 9:30 p.m., The Blood Factory will hold a panel discussion with its creators, after the premiere screening of their new horror film shorts. 2010
