How to use the grid
The first column is intended for the names of the tutees, whereas the first row is for either the date of tutoring or for the week number (e.g.
week 3). Each date has designated columns P (for present) and A (for absent); one way to utilize the columns is as shown in the sample below
– for present one may simply tick or write P in under the column, and the example uses U to designate “unexcused absence) and E for
“excused absence.” The footnotes section is for important additional information that may not fit in the grid. Feel free to utilize the tutee
contact information section as well.
We highly recommend using the attendance sheet every session to keep track of tutees assigned to you. In case of an unexcused
absence/absence without advance notice, do get into contact with the tutee and remind them of their commitment. Two unexcused absences
in a row is a violation of program rules. In such cases, we require tutors to inform the program coordinators, so that the tutee will be dropped
from the tutoring group.
