SMTools (Administration Tools for Service Manager)

Release Notes – Version 2020.09October 30, 2020

This document outlines the changes and enhancements made for SMTools 2020.09.

Save list page account field value to local storage

Prior to this release, on the initial displaying of main profile list page, the account field value is always set to default value “*”/blank. If the account field value is changed, the value is not saved.

The change is to use jQuery/browser script to detect if the account field value is changed, the new value is saved to browser local storage. Hence on the next initial displaying of the list page, the saved account value will be retrieved from browser local storage and overriding the default value (“*”/blank).

For example, on the List User page, the default initial account field value is blank. If a new account value is entered or selected from the Cross Account List, the new value is saved to the browser local storage. On the next initial displaying of this User List page, the saved account valued will be displayed.

Page 2: AT&T€¦  · Web viewAfter selecting Tunnel Direction = GRE PBR, click Create Tunnel button will create a base profile and display the detail page: IPv4 Host changes On the IPv4

The scope of this change is limited to main profile option list page. Bulk User Request page and all other create pages are not included.

Note: The saved list account value remains until you clear/refresh your Chrome browser cache. Clearing Firefox browser cache or “Delete Browsing History” on IE 11 will not clear this saved account value (in browser local storage). On Edge browser, setting’s “clearing browsing data/cached data and files” option will not clear this saved account value.

This saved list account value is kept in your browser local storage base on login account and user ID. Login with a different login account and user ID will have a different saved list account value.

Enhanced Field Help Text Link

When a page is displayed, all field names are enhanced as hyperlinks (text color is changed from black to blue). For example, when a field name hyperlink is clicked, the field name’s help text will be displayed under this field name:

2

Page 3: AT&T€¦  · Web viewAfter selecting Tunnel Direction = GRE PBR, click Create Tunnel button will create a base profile and display the detail page: IPv4 Host changes On the IPv4

When you click anywhere inside the help text display area or click the close icon , this field help text row will be closed.

In the prior two releases, this enhancement was implemented on all left Navigation Menu option’s main profiles (except Mobile Device Commands and VPN Client IDs) and on all sub-profile pages of the following Menu option’s main profiles (exclude main profiles which do not have sub-profile pages). Refer to prior release note for the list of this profile pages.

For this release, this enhancement is implemented on all Copy/Move/Rename pages. For example, the Copy User page, click the blue Authentication Server field link, the help text row will be displayed after this field:

Page 4: AT&T€¦  · Web viewAfter selecting Tunnel Direction = GRE PBR, click Create Tunnel button will create a base profile and display the detail page: IPv4 Host changes On the IPv4

Enhanced Edit Error Messages

In the prior two releases, this enhancement was implemented on all left Navigation Menu option’s main profiles (except Mobile Device Commands and VPN Client IDs) and on all sub-profile pages of the Menu option’s main profiles (exclude main profiles which do not have sub-profile pages). Refer to prior release note for the list of this profile pages.

For this release, this enhancement is implemented on all Copy/Move/Rename pages. For example, the Copy User page may get an edit error message SVM00038 like:

1) If the user clicks the message hyperlink , the edit error message is inserted above the page field name, plus the field name’s help text is also inserted under the field name (see page example below).

2) If the user enters a value in the edit message input area, the entered value will sync up with the page field name Target User input area (see page example below).

4

Page 5: AT&T€¦  · Web viewAfter selecting Tunnel Direction = GRE PBR, click Create Tunnel button will create a base profile and display the detail page: IPv4 Host changes On the IPv4

Note: If the edit error message ID is not SVM00038, then the above enhanced edit error feature is not implemented to this message. For example, the following edit error message SVM00032 will not havethe edit message in blue hyper link format and the input area for the field name Account.

New List Sort/Export/Search features In the last release, on some list pages (User List, AT&T VPN Gateway list, IPv4/IPv6 Host List), the following new buttons are generated:

1) Column Add/Remove: Select columns to hide/show, reset to default hidden columns.2) List rows export buttons: Export the list rows to different file formats.3) Search field: To filtering list rows.

For this release, the above features (1-4) are expanded to all other remaining list pages (which includes all main profile’s sub list pages).

Page 6: AT&T€¦  · Web viewAfter selecting Tunnel Direction = GRE PBR, click Create Tunnel button will create a base profile and display the detail page: IPv4 Host changes On the IPv4

For example, on the User List page:

More details on these new Features (same details documented from prior release):

The Actions column is not sortable and cannot be selected as hidden/show column in the [1] Column Add/Remove button.

The table has export buttons [2] below it on the left that exports only those rows and columns currently in the table on this page. This export data is limited only on the current page, it does not include all next page/previous page data. If some rows are selected (click, Ctrl-click or Shift-click), only those selected rows will be exported. However, the Actions row is excluded from exporting. The CSV file/Bulk User Request button can be used to export a file to be submitted to the Bulk User Request page for discontinue/restore/update user request.

The search box [3] has "smart" filtering enabled. It does partial word searches (character sequences) on all rows/columns (global search) . When separated by a space, the effect is a logical AND, so multiple criteria can be specified to match multiple character sequences in multiple columns.

Columns (up/down arrow) can be clicked for sorting in ascending/descending order. The sorting scope/order sequence of a column rows are limited to the current displayed page only. As SMtools only returns one page of rows at a time per submit (not all the pages are returned per submit), the sorting result of the next/previous page cannot be used to compare with the current page sorting result.

New List search field processing

On EdgeMarc List page: The list Search Value field and Display Field are removed:

6

Page 7: AT&T€¦  · Web viewAfter selecting Tunnel Direction = GRE PBR, click Create Tunnel button will create a base profile and display the detail page: IPv4 Host changes On the IPv4

The initial Search Field will default to display “Select One or More” value to remind user to select at least one search field for the search result and a new Discontinued Status field is added (but the Discontinued Status option is removed from Search Field select list):

If the user does not select any Search Field option, the browser script will set default value “*” to all Search Field options.

Each time the user selects a Search Field option/name, for example “Description”, the Description search input field is dynamically added (with a close icon ) after the Search Field:

7

Page 8: AT&T€¦  · Web viewAfter selecting Tunnel Direction = GRE PBR, click Create Tunnel button will create a base profile and display the detail page: IPv4 Host changes On the IPv4

This dynamically added search field option/name will be saved to browser local storage. However, the search field input value is not saved. Hence on the next initial list page display, browser jQuery/script will retrieve browser local storage to add all the search fields saved from previous selected/displayed search fields. The value of these search fields will set to “*” (the last entered value is not saved).

User may click the close icon to remove the search field from list page (hence remove this field option from the browser local storage). Then on the next initial display, it will not be added to the list page.

The above new search processing is also implemented to the following main profile list page: IPv4 Host List IPv6 Host List VIG Connection List uCPE NMTE List

On IPv4/IPv6 Host List: The list Search Value field and Display Field are removed. The same changes are made just like the previous example EdgeMarc List page.

On VIG Connection List page: Add new Search Value field and removed Display Field. However, the 11 search fields will be dynamically added based on the new Search Field selection option/processing:

8

Page 9: AT&T€¦  · Web viewAfter selecting Tunnel Direction = GRE PBR, click Create Tunnel button will create a base profile and display the detail page: IPv4 Host changes On the IPv4

After change, the list now looks like:

Page 11: AT&T€¦  · Web viewAfter selecting Tunnel Direction = GRE PBR, click Create Tunnel button will create a base profile and display the detail page: IPv4 Host changes On the IPv4

Note: The saved search field options/names remains until you clear/refresh your Chrome browser cache. Clearing Firefox browser cache or “Delete Browsing History” on IE 11 will not clear these saved search field options/names (in browser local storage). On Edge browser, setting’s “clearing browsing data/cached data and files” option will not clear this saved search options/names.

This saved search field option/name is kept in your browser local storage based on login account and user ID. Login with a different login account and user ID will have a different saved search field option/name. account value.
