Program
Degree Program Description
The Graduate Diploma in BiblicalLanguages is a one and a half to
twoyear degree program designed forpastors, church workers,
translators,educators in Bible schools orseminaries, and lay people
who want tolearn biblical Hebrew and/or Greek for
responsible interpretation of Scripture.
The program nurtures integratedspirituality: cultivating respect
for theWord of God, interpreting it in light ofboth biblical and
present-day contexts,and appropriating it for personal andcorporate
life. Its specific focus is theresponsible interpretation of the
Old
and New Testaments using the biblicallanguages and the practice
of genre-based exegesis.
At the end of the program, students willhave developed the
ability to translate,read and memorize Hebrew and/orGreek passages,
and use the biblical
language(s) in their exegetical paper(s)in the context of
everyday ministry.
Students are required to complete 27units of course work,
prerequisitecourses Writing Academic Papers andIntroduction to the
Bible, and participatein one Care Group.
This can be a ladderized degreetowards the ATS M.Div.
program.
