The word Atonement started in the Tabernacle with Aaron but the meaning goes

back to Genesis 6:14 (KJV) Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thoumake in the ark, and shalt pitch (H3722) it within and without with pitch (H3724).

Which came from (H3277).Exodus 25:18-21 (KJV) (H3727) taken from (H3722)

18 And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make

them, in the two ends of the mercy seat.

19 And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end:even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.

20 And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy

NOTE: The both the "Mercy Seat" (H3727) covered the Ark and "Pitch" (H3722"

seal the Ark of Noah. How important was that "atonement" to us given from God?

It was that same "atonement" that hung on a cross between Heaven and Earth sowe would not have to die in a lost sinful HELL.

The First usage was in Gen. 6:14 in the word "Pitch". Gen. 32:20 I will "appease"

him and in Nehemiah 10:33 is the last time "Atonement" (H3722) is used in theOld Testament. The Apostle Paul picks it back up in Romans 5:11 "And not only

so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now

God atoned for our sins through His Son, Jesus Christ but God had to atone Adam
