Our faith developmentprogram includes:U Daily Religious Education and Classroom Prayer Students attend daily Theology classes, which begin

with prayer, to strengthen the formation of a personal relationship with God.

U Eucharistic Liturgies and the Sacrament of Reconciliation

Daily Mass is offered in our Chapel, and all students attend a school-wide Mass monthly. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available weekly, and also school-wide during the seasons of Advent and Lent.

U Yearly Class Retreat Opportunities Upperclassmen are selected and trained by our faculty

to plan and lead several retreats each year. These retreats are offered by grade level, and invite the students to discover and then deepen, their relationship with God through our Catholic Faith.

U Service Commitment Serving others is an essential part of our call to follow

Jesus Christ. The service program is an integral part of campus life and students are expected to complete 100 community service hours throughout their 4 years.

U Ministry Opportunities Various ministry clubs offer students the ability to serve

in areas of personal interest, such as with Respect Life, Best Buddies, the Exceptional Theater Company, the elderly, and local poverty relief organizations. School-wide food and toy collections are led by students to benefit local charities. As part of our Campus Ministry program, Archbishop

McCarthy High School provides our students the opportunity to serve as part of a Mission in various locations – in South Florida, in locations around the United States, and internationally.

“It (the Church) invites us to consider the missio ad gentes (mission activity of the Church) as a great, immense work of mercy, both spiritual and material. On this World Mission Sunday, all of us are invited to “go out” as missionary disciples, each generously offering their talents, creativity, wisdom and experience in order to bring the message of God’s tenderness and compassion to the entire human fam-ily.” (Message of Pope Francis for World Mission Day 2016)

As students learn to serve, they also serve to learn – about another culture, and about their vocation of living the Gospel as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

In-House Test PrepWith college degrees becoming increasingly more important, and our society and colleges becoming more selective and competitive, we have seen an increase in the number of students who request information on SAT/ACT preparation. As these SAT and/or ACT scores are an important determining factor in college admissions decisions, we want our students to gain the confidence and skills to achieve higher scores. To help our students achieve this goal, we have planned in-house test preparation opportunities.
