DESCRIPTION

3 “away days”: wrap-up Report: –Section 6 (Management and organisation of distributed data): ‘Mining’ CHEP 2013 contributions. Need to check if all identified authors can and will be able to contribute. –Section 7 (Distributed analysis): Some text in svn. Needs more work. (Can all authors contribute?) –Section 8 (Project management and tools): some text in svn, and discussions this week for next steps. Need new CMS author. –Section 9 (Outlook): needs work! We need sustained, continuing effort (but it’s not 100% fulltime), but I think these “away days” have provided an “impulse”. LET’S DO IT! ATLAS+CMS:JCSS 9 Oct 2014

“away days”: wrap-up

• Not as much engagement as hoped for, but still worthwhile….

• Report:– Section 1 (Introduction): good discussion on draft “physics”

section, and how to merge with “computing” bit. Items for further work identified.

– Section 2 (Overview). Next iteration of text and figures done (and in svn). This section is just about in “draft minus 1” state.

– Section 3: (Data production: on-line) Some text is in svn. More work needed. (A planned trip to CERN by one author had to be cancelled..)

– Section 4: (Simulation): Contact with authors, and commitment to get going!

– Section 5: (Off-line processing) See report from David Rousseau.
