DESCRIPTION

Infrastructure Meeting – 8th January 2014 Steve Pavis PH-DT-DI/Gas I/O must be checked on a 20% basis for each profibus node (e.g. mixer, pump, distribution) as was performed for the original system commissioning and any sub-sequent additions. Upgrade and Re-Commissioning Procedure Alarm testing will be carried out on a 20% sample basis. Each module (mixer, Pump, Purifier) should be tested in all its relevant modes before testing the overall gas system in all of its normal operation modes (e.g. Run, Purge, Fill, Empty etc), checking that each module goes to its appropriate modes and sub-states. It is also important to check that the appropriate set-points are automatically applied by the system in the different modes of operation (e.g. mixer fill, run and purge flow set points and ratios), and that these set points are achieved and PID controller functionality behaves as normal. Brief Summary Of Tests To Be Performed :

Prior to the upgrade of any particular system, EN-ICE will send by email to the relevant experiment personnel a reminder that the system is about to be upgraded (according to the planning that has already been agreed between PH-DT-DI and the various experiments).

Upgrade and Re-Commissioning Procedure

The PH-DT-DI/Gas site responsible will ensure that all preparations are made for the re-commissioning, along with the fact that the system may remain off for several days if not weeks. This may imply ensuring there is sufficient supply of backup purge gas for those systems where constant purge flow must be ensured at all times.

On the day the upgrade begins, the PH-DT-DI site responsible will stop the gas system in readiness for EN-ICE to install the new system software, upgrade the PLC firmware and transfer the system to the Technical network. EN-ICE will need access to the gas surface building and so the site/gas system responsible should be present at least for the first half an hour or so. EN-ICE usually require approximately half a day to complete the various elements of the upgrade.During this time, PH-DT-DI/Gas will make upgrades to Pump chassis and flow readout PLC.

Once EN-ICE have informed PH-DT-DI that the system is available for testing, PH-DT-DI will ensure that the system is brought to full and normal operation as soon as possible.

Before Testing Begins:

Upgrade and Re-Commissioning Procedure

Alarm testing will be carried out on a 20% sample basis.

Only registered users (including ‘monitors’, gas operators or gas experts) with TN access rights (handled by EN-ICE) will be able to open the GAS HMI (a list of names has been discussed) – access is achieved by performing one of the following actions :

Upgrade and Re-Commissioning Procedure

(i) From the GPNBy performing a RD to a dedicated WTS(cerntsbe-Atlas) and from that WTS theywill be able to open the GAS HMI.

(ii) From the Atlas network

PCs in the Atlas experiment, includingGAS PCs in SG (which are connected tothe Atlas network), the access will bedone by doing an RD to ATLAS WTSfollowed by RD to the dedicated WTS toopen the GAS HMI (double hop).

Then, once migration is completed, the PCs in SG: 3170 R-0401 and US: 3125-2-2152) zones will be removed. They will be replaced by Linux consoles (connected to the TN) which will be setup with local GAS HMI running on them to allow permanent access to the GAS systems.

Remote Access Procedure to be used during the migration from Atlas network to TN network control infrastructure (before handshake is in place) :
