pace Camp from Atlantis Frontiers is an 12 Day, 12 Night educational extravaganza with 7 Houston and 4 days in Florida. This unique camp is designed to provide participants knowledgthe latest developments in space research through visits to NASA's Kennedy and Johnson spacS

interaction with NASA scientists, engineers and astronauts and more. The camp also provides a funwith visits to Universal Studios and Disney World in Florida.

The Space camp includes Space School at Space Center Houston, Visit to the Kennedy Space Center and visits to Disney and Universal Studio's in Orlando, Florida.

The Space School Program at Space Center, Houston includes an engineering mission to land athe surface of Mars, exclusive level 9 tours of NASA's Johnson Space Center, Houston and interacsenior NASA scientists and engineers.

Space School



Several tours are organized for space school stud Johnson Space Center, highlighting both Mars and prelated themes. Students get to visit the current and hMission Control Centers, the Space Station Mock-up

with its life-sized models of the International Space and Space Shuttle. Students also visit the Neutral BuLaboratory where astronauts train for Extra vehActivities (EVA) in simulated micro gravity. Students

to see the rockets used in the early space program, as well as experimental X-vehicles.

The tour includes an exclusive lunch at the NASA cafeteria where students may get an opportunity tomeal with NASA astronauts who are presently in Houston.

Engineering Missions:Students participating in Space Center Houston's Space School are assigned a fiveday engineering mission to land a rover on the surface of Mars! They will have toanalyze rock samples with a Reflectance Spectrometer, loft a rock sample intoMartian orbit, and return it back to Earth in a rocket of their own design. All thetime, working within a NASA budget; knowing that funds or supplies for theproject may be decreased at any time due to budget cuts, safety regulations, or

any other excuse the staff may give to make the experience truly dynamic andrepresentative of the real NASA world.

Projects:Designing, Building & Launching a Rocket:

Building a Robotic Mars Rover: Based on the parameters provided, students must decide how to createrover. starting with price lists for supplies and given varying criteria, students design, build and test thei

Engineering a Rover Lander: During this phase of the mission, teams have to design and create a lanwill safely protect its rover payload from the impact of landing on the Martian surface.

Lofting Into Space: Students will have to design an apparatus capable of carrying all rocket piecupwards 2-stories at a 60-degree angle of ascent.

Student Presentations: Students will be given information about specific topics using which all groupresent the necessary information to accomplish their rocket, rover, landing and lofting projects.

Students have to engineer a rocket of their own design.

In back-to-back IMAX® theaters, participants will feel the thrill of space exploration on five-screens as they "float" right alongside NASA Astronauts. On the guided tours into exclusive areas, partiwill get a behind the-scenes look at Kennedy Space Center's working space flight facilities.

Participants will get a chance to strap in and experience interactive space flight simulators at the AstroHall of Fame. They can touch a real piece of Mars, see gigantic rockets, board the Space Shuttle Explomuch more.
