ENERGY FROM THE VACUUM

Could the Power We N eed Be All Around Us?

All EM (electromagnetic) systems are powered by energy extracted from the vacuum. They are not

powered by the mechanical energy we input to the shaft of a generator, or by the chemical energy in a

The theory that so-called empty space is actually a vibrant ocean of energy makes perfect sense and seems

se lf-evident to some of us.

There really is no other explanation for how billions of stars obtain the power to continuously put out prodigious amounts

of heat and light f or, what appears to be, indef inite periods of t ime. In the face of t his, to argue that t he universe is

just a vacuum of dead nothingness is almost as senseless as contending that the earth is flat even though the sun

rises and sets every day. And yet, the worldwide s cientif ic community, men and women of high intelligence and

tremendous cumulative knowledge, refuses to acknowledge that t his could be so. Even when it is clearlydemonstrated, as it was by Dr. T. Henry Moray, they assume it t o be s ome sort of t rickery or fraud, and they return

to st ale s cientific dogma.

In the early 1920s, M oray, who was a boyhood admirer of N ikola Tesla, built a free-energy device, weighing about

sixty pounds with no apparent power input, t hat produced 50,000 watts of e lectricity for several hours. M oray, from

Salt Lake City, obtained his doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the Univers ity of Uppsala in Sweden in 1918 . By

the 1930s, M oray had perfected his invention and was able to demonst rate, in tes t aft er test , that t he device

delivered high voltage elect rical power simply by tapping ambient energy.

In a well-documented and photographed demonstration, Morays Radiant Energy Device powered 35 100-watt light

bulbs and a 1200-watt iron. Morays highly publicized demonst rations t o scient ist s, engineers, and government

representatives convinced t hem all that M oray had succeeded in tapping an invisible, universal sea of energy. The

Radiant Energy Device utilized 29 transistor-like, cold vacuum tube valves , or one-way gates, that t rapped the

energy and accumulated it until it reached a high wattage. Des pite all of the publicity surrounding this device, t he U .S.Patent Office never granted him a patent. Moray met with constant opposition. He was frequently threatened; his

laboratory was broken into and robbed, and he was actually shot at in the s treet s and in his own office. He eventually

Space-Time

One of the theoretical keys to the understanding of the Radiant Energy Device was the work of Hermann Minkow-

ski, a brilliant German mathematician. It was M inkowski who, in 1907, created the mathematical framework that

brought space and time together and evolved the concept of space-time. Minkowski was inspired by Einsteins 1905

Theory of Special Relativity and realized that Special Relativity required an entirely new definition of the relationship

between space and time. H e was able to prove mathematically that time is a fourth dimension of space, and he hy-

pothes ized a four-dimensional space-time continuum. This revolutionized Galileos flat view of s pace-time in which

only simultaneous events were on the same plane in space-time, and substituted a space-t ime, non-Euclidian cone

in which event t iming is relative to the observer while the speed of light remains a constant. Einstein then, in 1908,

using Minkowskis framework, developed the Theory of General Relativity, which is now universally accepted, and

has become the foundation of modern physics. The Einstein-M inkowski framework of space-t ime supersedes the

Galilean concept of Absolute Time. Time now becomes relative, and time and space become interdependent; and it

becomes possible to convert one t o the other. As the fourth dimension of s pace, t ime has its own axis in a

Minkowski Diagram.

The Einst ein-Minkowski space-t ime theory was largely built upon the Maxwell Equations. This s et of four equations

developed by James Clerk Maxwell in 18 65 were mathematical formulations of the behavior of electromagnet ic

waves in a vacuum. Maxwell was the first to include light waves and photons in the electromagnetic spectrum, and

he proved mathematically that all electromagnet ic radiation moved at the speed of light. Thus, this constant became

an integral component of Einst eins famous formulation, E=mc2, where c is t he speed of light.

About Maxwell, Einste in said, The precise formulation of t he t ime-space laws was the work of Maxwell. Imagine

his feelings when the diff erent ial equations he had formulated proved to him that electromagnet ic fields spread in the

form of polarized waves , and at the speed of light! To few men in the world has such an experience been

vouchsafed . . it t ook physicists s ome decades t o grasp the full s ignif icance of Maxwells discovery, so bold was t he

leap that his genius forced upon the conceptions of his f ellow-workers . (Science, M ay 24,1940). It should be noted

here that both Maxwell and Minkowski were mathematical theoret icians and made their proofs strictly with pure

mathematics. It was up to Einstein to translate their results to the realm of physics. Einsteins formulas have been

demonst rated in the real world many times, although nowhere as dramatically as in the development of atomic energy.

The T im e Domain

Dr. Moray achieved his results, more or less, by trial and error and wasnt really knowledgeable about t he M inkowski-

Maxwell-Einstein theoretical developments . But, he eventually came to virtually the s ame conclusions. In his book,

The Sea of Energy in Which the Earth Floats, he concludes t hat the f ree energy from the cosmos comes in

waves or oscillations, and he was able to tune his device to harmonize with these oscillations and that was the

secret of capturing the energy. Every oscillation, he says, whether large or small, is completed during the sameinterval of time. Thes e oscillations all prove t he same great fact, that they are governed by the s ame cycle of t ime,

completed during the same interval of t ime. Waves of energy have a regular beat note, coming and going as the

waves of the sea, but in a very def inite mathematical order (Maxwells? )coming to the earth from every direction

with a definite rhythm. For energy waves to be propagated through a vacuum rhythmically implies t hat t hey are going

through some sort of medium where time is t he dominant factor, since space is known to be totally devoid of mass .

Moray called it the luminiferous medium of the universe. The rhythmic oscillations would sugges t t hat the energy

from the vacuum is actually coming from what is called the time domain. Then it is transduced to the spatial

dimens ion through Morays device and theref ore able to do physical work. Thus, the space-time theories of M axwell,

M inkowski, and Einstein would appear to be validated.

Rogue Scientists

Since the late F orties, the related research and development, in this country, was largely taken over by military-

industrial organizations and remains secret, as with the M anhattan Project . I t became what Paul LaViolett e refers toas classif ied physics. So it has been lef t to what might be called rogue s cientis ts, outside the s cientif ic

es tablishment and not able to benefit f rom the tremendous resources of big budget corporate-university R&D and

colleague fellowship, to bring thes e theories down to earth and before the public. These are the scientist pioneers

we must now rely on to make this Buck Rogers R&D of practical use in civilian applications.

Probably the most prominent of t hese res earchers is Thomas E. Bearden, whose theoretical work builds on Min-

kowski-Maxwell-Einste in as well as outs ide t he box t hinkers such as Dr. Moray. Bearden is a ret ired Army Lt .

Colonel. His Curriculum Vitae on his website says that he is a theoretical conceptualist act ive in the study of scalar

elect romagnet ics, advanced elect rodynamics, unif ied field theory, KGB energet ics weapons and phenomena, free

energy sys tems , electromagnet ic healing via the unified field action of extended Sachs-Evans electrodynamics, and

human development. (H e is) Particularly known for his work establishing a theory of overunity e lectrical power

syst ems , scalar electromagnetic weapons, energet ics weapons, and the use of t ime-as-energy in both power

systems and the mind-body interaction. Bearden is also the Director of the Association of Distinguished American

Scient ist s. This organization claims to be att empting to unify the major disciplines of science, namely classical EM(CEM ), general relativity (GR ), and quantum mechanics (QM).

Bearden came to scient ific and public attention in 198 0 with the publication of his f irst book,The Excalibur Briefing

(Strawberry Hill Pres s, 1978 , Paperback). This was a brilliant, groundbreaking work t hat basically explains most

paranormal phenomena in terms of a new physics based on a scient ific exploration of the virtual state, or in Einsteinian

terms, the time domain of space-time.

In this book, Bearden shows how interactions bet ween the t wo dimens ions account for what appear to be miraculous

manifes tations. In Part One, Bearden takes on such diverse phenomena as remote viewing, the Crystal Skull,

mental met al bending, thought photography, psychotronics, U FOs, men-in-black, dowsing, Kirlian Photography, foo

fighters, and catt le mutilations! Then, in Part Two, he gives the theoretical foundations of all these phenomena in

terms of the virtual state, or what he then called hyperspace, a term then in vogue because it was used in Star

Wars.

It could be said that in this book, Bearden succeeded in conceptualizing the miraculous by removing all the layers of

mys tery. Since it appeared at roughly the same time as Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain by

Ost rander and Schroeder (Prentice-Hall, 1970), the two books, t aken together, could be viewed as a revolutionary

revelation of a new s cience explaining the invisible powerhouse of energy behind previously inexplicable phenomena.

Consequently, t he early Eighties became a turning point in the public underst anding of what could be called the

science of magic.

E=tc2

For 20 years after The Excalibur Briefing, Bearden continued to refine his res earch, experimentation, and theori-

zation. Then, in 2004, he released the most comprehens ive and detailed exposition of his concepts in his 977-page

magnum opus, Energy from the Vacuum (Cheniere Press, 2004). In this book, Bearden theorizes a new model ofthermodynamic interaction in which time becomes a factor. He says that t he time dimension, on the fourth Minkow-

ski axis, has the same energy density as mass. Then he enunciates a radically new concept, comparable to

Einsteins f amous f ormula. He says, Multiplying an amount of t ime t (in seconds) by c2 gives the decompressed

spatial energy Ethat t he t ime t will transduce into. In short, E = tc2 also. This idea that the energy potential from the

time domain is identical to the energy that can be derived from the conversion of mass by E = mc2 is revolutionary. I t

means that energy releases comparable t o atomic explosions can be achieved simply by t ransducing time, if we

knew how.

Bearden says that according to Special Relativity, there is an inverse relationship between mass-energy and

time-energy. In his words, When the mass-energy increases (e.g., as a function of velocity), time dilates or

decreas-es If mass (3-space) gains some 3-spatial energy, then time loses some t ime-energy. Since t ime is

spatialEM energy compacted by c2, then the relativist ic energy changes in the t ime domain are enormously greater

than the corresponding relativistic changes in spatial energy in the photon. That is, by his formula, E=tc2, a negligible

amount of time energy transduces to a massive amount of spatial energy by a factor of c2. So the energy given offby any s tar has been transduced from a tiny res ervoir of invisible energy, where t he visible energy equals the invisible

energy t imes 18 6,000 ft./s ec.squared! Bearden says that this is a constant, ongoing process in the universe. Time

continually dilates , or moves backwards, in order to produce s patial energy.

Bearden claims that this process can be engineered on demand by the use of a s imple oscillating electric dipole. The

negative pole of the dipole att racts the EM energy from the time domain and supplies the energy that is then

transmitt ed to the posit ive pole. The EM energy is sent back to the vacuum f rom t he positive pole, thus circulating

between 3-s pace and 4-space. Bearden explains it this way: Once the dipole is es tablished, it will extract and

transduce EM energy from the vacuum and pour it out in all directions at the speed of light, without ceasingReal ob-

servable EM energy extracted and transduced from the vacuums virtual energy is precisely what t he broken

symmet ry of the opposite charges on the ends of the dipole means.

Bearden and his colleagues have developed an experimental device ut ilizing thes e principles called the Motionles s

Elect romagnet ic Generator, or MEG, which is an overunity device; i.e. it puts out more energy than it takes in. It has

no moving parts. The MEG was granted a U.S. patent on March 26, 2002. According to Beardens webs ite, they

have recent ly achieved a 100:1 ratio of energy-out t o energy-in. They are now engaged in a cooperative res earch

project with a friendly foreign nation to develop and market commercial power s ystems for that nation, based on the

MEG. There is no way to know how this device compares with Morays R adiant Energy Device because Moray

took the secret of t he valve t o his grave. When his son John recently sought t o retrieve M orays patent application

papers from the U.S. Patent Office, he found that the folder jackets were still there, but they were empty. The

specif ications papers themselves were gone.

T ime Engineering

In a paper tit led, Vision 2000: The N ew Science Now Emerging for the N ew M illenium, writt en in 2000 for a

conference, Bearden discusses the fact that the original 20 Maxwell Equations were reduced by Oliver Heaviside in

the 18 90s to just 4, excluding what is called the nondiverged energy flow in the vacuum, and leaving only vector

based energy, commonly used in modern elect ronics. Bearden claims that when these excluded formulas are re-

stored, it becomes poss ible to engineer the t ime domain.

In the paper he says. Time-as -energy eventually becomes engineerable, as easily as is spatial energy now. We

are always dealing with space-t ime and with space-time curvature. Any spatial energy flow must be accompanied

with a change in energy flow in the time domain, a priori. This is accomplished by capturing and directing the longitudinal

EM waves t hat proliferate in the vacuum when space-t ime becomes curved. These waves do not exist in 3-space,

where only transverse electromagnet ic waves are utilized. The potential uses f or such controlled usage of longitudinal

EM waves boggles the mind. Bearden says , matter is a vast s uperhighway for longitudinal EM wavesthe ulti-

mate t ransparency. An astounding thing emerges : These new causal robotic sys tems of t he future will travel right

through the superhighway interior of EM fields and waves and potentials, and thus right through enormous

amounts of matter. They can travel through a beam of light, a radio signal, a radar beam, etc. They can communicate

with us and be controlled by longitudinal EM waves. They can reside in any EM f ield, potential, or wave in a human

body, a piece of wood, a piece of copper, the ionosphere, or the sun. By mid-century we will be using such robotic sys -

tems to explore t he interior of t he earth, other planets , the interior of t he sun, ast eroids, s pace junk, etc.

Development of t hese space-t ime EM technologies will revolutionize life on earth. Bearden says, Even the poor-

es t deve loping nation can afford the self-powering electrical power systems t hat will res ult in the immediate f uture.

Then the res ulting progres s of those struggling societ ies will be rapid indeed, with cheap clean energy available at their

disposal. Infrast ructures can be built very quickly. Strong attent ion can be f ocused on clean drinking water, medical

treatment, plentiful food, and other health problems , and on education of the masses . In short, the developing nations

can be placed on a very f ast lane t o the development and financial uplifting of t heir peoples.
