ofmedalsanyCanadianathletehaswon.Shehasalreadyachievedgoodresults,eventhoughsheisstillquiteyoung.
PennyOleksiakwasbornonJune13,2000,intoanathleticfamilyinScarborough,Ontario.Hermotherisanengineerandherfatherisawriter.Herfoursiblingsareallathletic,likesheis.Pennyfirstlearnedtoswiminaneighbour’spool.Shestartedthesportwhenshewasnineyearsold,andstartedhertrainingwiththeTorontoOlympianSwimClub.In2013,shesetanOntariorecordinthe100-metreraceforheragegroup.
Pennycontinuedtowinmedalsandawards.Atthe2016SummerOlympics,shewononegoldmedal,onesilver,andtwobronze.When
shewas16yearsold,shesetanOlympicrecordinthe100-metrefreestyleswim,andshewonfourmedalsatthe2017and2019WorldAquaticsChampionships.SheisthefirstCanadiantowinfourmedalsatasingleSummerGamesandhastiedVictorDavisastheCanadianOlympicswimmerwiththemostmedals.
PennyisalreadyCanada’syoungestgoldmedalist,andshesaysthatshehopestoimprovehertechnique

About4500yearsago,apharaohnamedKhufubuiltahugetriangularstructurecalledapyramid.Thestructureis140metreshighandhasemptyspacesinthemiddlewherethepharaoh’sbodywasputafterhedied.Nearthepyramidisalargestructurethatlookslikealionwithahumanhead.ThiscreatureiscalledtheSphinxandwasbuiltatthesametimeasthepyramidtoguardthepharaoh’stomb .
Thereareover130pyramidsinEgypt.Besidesthat,manyothertombsareintheValleyoftheKingsandValleyoftheQueensinLuxor.Eventhoughthepharaohshavebeengoneforthousandsofyears,theirhistoryisstillimportant.

StormshappenallthetimeacrossCanadaandaroundtheworld.Someofthemostdangerousonesaretornadoes,alsoknownastwisters.Everyyear,tornadoescausedamageandharm
peopleinalmosteveryareaoftheworld.
Tornadoesformwhenwarm,wetairmeetscold,dryair.Thecoldairispushedoverthewarmair,andthisusuallyproducesathunderstorm.Thewarmairrisesthroughthecolderairandcanstarttospinifthewindconditionsareright.Thespinningairpullsinmoreairfromthethunderstorm,causingittospinfaster.Thecoolairisforceddown,andwhenittouchesthegrounditbecomesatornado.
Sometornadoesarewidecloudsshapedlikefunnels,andothersarethinlikeropes.Theycanlastjustafewminutesandmoveashortdistance,ortheycantravelupto150kilometresandlasthours,withwindsthatcanreachover480kilometresperhour.Overwater,theyarecalledwaterspouts.
Thewindsarewhatmaketornadoesdangerous.Theypickupanythingintheirway.Theycanriproofsoffbuildingsorlifthugetrucksofftheroad.Tornadoesstartoutinvisible untiltheystarttopickupdirt,whichturnsthemblackasthe
