• The transmitting modem adds its local address and destination address to the radio frame.

• Modems receiving the radio frame compare the 2 addresses added to the pairs of configured addresses.

• If the additional addresses are identical to a configured pair of addresses, the message is recognised by the modem; otherwise the modem does not recognise the radio frame.

• The modem recognising the message compares the destination address for the message with its local address.

• If they are identical the message is sent over the serial link; otherwise, the modem returns the message by radio, exchanging the message’s local address with its own local address.
