in the Indian firmament both within governmental institutional frameworks and in civil society.
In the context of the oft-cited Fundamental Duty enshrined in Article 51A (h) of the Constitution “to develop the scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform.”

KHAGOL VISHWA (KV) Khagol Vishwa (KV) is an organization for
amateur astronomers working in Pune and PimpriChinchwad Area, India.
Science popularization, observation and analysis of astronomical events, public star gazing programs are some of the main activities of this organization.
VIGYAN PRASAR (VP) Vigyan Prasar (VP), NOIDA was set-up as an autonomous organization in 1989 under Department of Science and Technology, with the objectives to take up large-scale science popularization tasks/activities
THE NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY COMMUNICATION (NCSTC)
The National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC) is a Division in the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
It endeavors to communicate science & technology (S&T), stimulates scientific and technological temper and coordinates & facilitates the initiatives at various levels.

ORISSA ENVIRONMENTAL SOCIETY
Orissa Environmental Society was established in 1982 at Bhubaneswar. It was set up to encourage and organize study, research, understanding and appreciation of nature.
They conduct research, seminars and workshops on forest and wildlife protection and organize eco-development camps.
RAJASTHAN ENVIRONMENT PRESERVATION SOCIETY
Rajasthan Environment Preservation Society was set up in 1985 at Jaipur to work towards pollution control, afforestation, ecological and environmental preservation.
They impart environmental education and awareness, provide consultancy and encourage the use of renewable sources of energy.
THE ENERGY AND RESOURCES INSTITUTE (TERI)
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), established in 1974, TERI is a wholly independent not-for-profit research institute. Its mission is to develop and promote technologies, policies and institutions for efficient and sustainable use of natural resources.
Science Popularization in Kerala
The scheme is constituted for the purpose of providing assistance in the form of grants for popularization of science in the State of Kerala.
Grants will be paid for specific activities/task which enables science popularization through awareness programmes, other science movements, documentaries, folklores etc.
In May of 1994, at the request of the Dutch government, we undertook a project of five weeks duration in the State of Kerala in India
in Kerala NGOs play an important role in research and the production of relevant knowledge in the areas of agriculture and environment.

KERALA SASTRA SAHITYA PARISHAD (KSSP)
Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad (KSSP): Organization in Kerala that defines itself as 'people's science movement'; founded in 1962 by science writers in Malayalam
The KSSP has now transformed into a state-wide grass-roots organization that aims to popularize science and technology for bringing about a "social revolution."
