Apparel Manufacturing Technology (AMT)

About the Course

The course deals with the nuances of Apparel production /Manufacturing. It includes Fundamental of

apparel production, Pattern making, Garment construction, Quality control, Industrial engineering,

Merchandising etc. The planning and execution of Apparel production has challenges and the knowledge

of quality, efficiency, compliance, factory layout, technology, manpower training can be effective tool to

overcome these challenges. AMT, imparts skill and knowledge related to the manufacturing process of

Apparel Production.

About the Course

The course deals with the area of Apparel & Fashion Design .It includes subjects like Basic of design,

Illustration, Embroideries, Pattern making & garment construction, merchandising etc. It provides

understanding of personality development & English. It deals with learning in the area of design &

enables the candidate to understand the process of designing ,keeping different aspects of Apparel

making according to the market & client . Understanding fashion in relation to lifestyle and trends .

Production Supervisor Sewing (720 hours)

A Supervisor guides activities of operators and/or other employees engaged in the process of manufacturing,

inspection, processing and related activity. Production Supervisor plans and allocates resources and monitors

schedules. Their work includes checking output, input material, equipment and ensuring process controls. A

supervisor needs to ensure maximum out put from minimum input to increase the bottom line. Fashion Designer (720 hours)

Fashion Designer should have the skills and knowledge to develop fashion design briefs and manage the

development of design concepts for commercial production. The Initial process includes conducting market

research and trend analysis for the particular season and identifying a theme for the collection; then creating a

mood board and color board based on the theme, develop an entire range according to the business plan and as

per the theme board. After finalization on the range with the team, create the techpack for each style.

Quality Assessor (540 hours)

The Quality Assessor should be able to carry out Quality control / Quality assurance processes, understanding

product and processes required at various stages of production for meeting the expectations of final customers. AMT - KNITS Foundation (520 hours)

The trainees shall be qualified for taking up the role of assistant to Apparel Production (knits) Executives

Assistant Production Managers(knits) or as Supervisor(knits)

AVI Certificate courses

Pattern Master (720 hours)

Pattern Master uses ordinary and basic hand operated equipment and tools for measuring, marking and cutting to

create pattern son no textile cheaper substrate (usually hard paper board) for each size within given range of

apparel and/or garment design. A complete pattern consists of various components cut to size and thus a full

pattern for a particular garment , comprises various shapes and sizes of paper boards cut and preserved as set.

They need to have complete knowledge of converting a 2D fabric into a 3D garment.

Advance Pattern Maker CAD/CAM (360 hours)

The advance pattern maker uses the CAD system to recreate the pattern design techniques by transferring designs into patterns digitally. They need to digitize and modify patterns and also use of CAM to get the patterns and lays cut out in the actual sizes, on fabric lays.

Industrial Engineering Executive (360 hours)

An Industrial Engineer is responsible for determining most effective ways to create a product or service in sewing

line. Their work includes analysis of the sewing method & process, machine and supervision of production floor for

efficiency improvement.

QC Executive (720 hours)

QC Executive is responsible for ensuring that physical in spections are conducted at all stages of

production to secure quality and check that all technical details are received verified & signed off

prior to starting production. QC executive also establishes quality plans, parameters and inspection

systems, records deviations and sends feedback to the concerned department.

Merchandiser (540 hours)

Merchandiser (Made-up & Home Furnishing) plays a major role right from the process beginning with

strategic planning to execution of plan from order booking to final shipment. The span of tasks for

merchandiser involves getting the right merchandise, in the right place, at the right time, in the right

quantities at the right price.

candidates to undertake 1 year Diploma Programs & 6 Months Certificate Courses in ATDC with “Merit-cum-

Airtel Telecommunications. Since he had interest in Apparels he joined ATDC and after

completing AMT (KNITS) course from ATDC, Tirupur he is presently working as a Sr. Merchandiser

in Emmar, International and is grateful to ATDC to have provided him with the platform to realize
