TERMINOLOGY Worldspan’s Car Select provides availability displays, rate and general policies, rules, and location information. Information on Car Select can be found in:

• HELP Pages Assistance on formats and codes for a specific topic HELP CARS will display a list of the topics in HELP

• INFO Pages Assistance on information for a specific topic INFO CARS will display a list of the topics in INFO

Car chains may participate in Car Select at different levels: Car Source (#)

• Car Source is Worldspan’s highest level of participation for rental car associates and delivers current rates, including one-way rates and total rates directly from the individual car chain’s database. A confirmation is received when the car is booked.

• Car Source participants are identified in the system by the # symbol

Car AccessPlus ($)

• Car AccessPlus participants return instant confirmations and rate verification at the time of booking through direct communications links to the car chain’s internal reservations system.

Car AccessPlus participants are identified in the system by the $ symbol

Non-AccessPlus associates

• Confirmation numbers are returned from non-AccessPlus associates after the booking has been ended in Worldspan. Once the car booking has been received by the car chain’s database they will return the confirmation number to the Worldspan booking.

CAR RENTAL LOCATIONS The car rental location list will differ depending upon whether a city or airport code is used in the entry.

• If a city code i.e. PAR, LON, BUE is used in the entry, the listed locations will be for city locations.

• If an airport code i.e. CDG, LGW, EZE is used in the entry, the listed locations will be

STEP 1 - CAR AVAILABILITY HELP CRA INFO CRA INFO CR EDITS Car Availability provides the lowest car rental rates for the city/airport on the dates requested and if included, the specific vehicle requested. Car availability may be requested up to 343 days in advance. In Car Availability entries either city or airport codes may be used, however:

• When a city code i.e. LON, PAR, NYC is specified the default is to display city locations

• When an airport code i.e. LHR, CDG, JFK is specified the default is to display airport

locations

• When a city code which is both city and airport, i.e. JNB, MAD, CMB, the default is to display airport locations. The location option /L may be used to override the default.

CAR AVAILABILITY FROM BOOKED SEGMENT The return date and drop time will be assumed when a car availability is requested from a flight segment in the PNR or when a car is sold from a flight segment. The return date is determined by the date in the next departing flight. In the event there is no continuing flight segment, a 24 hour return is assumed. The drop time will be automatically inserted to reflect one hour prior to the departure of the next flight segment. When there is no continuing flight segment or if the departure city in the continuing flight segment is not the same as the arrival city a drop time cannot be determined.
