Thank you for your interest in our AV mod,it will permit you to play on about any modern Tvs with brighter images and better sound.

Prerequisites :

This job is pretty easy, you'll only have to do 4 soldering points on your motherboard.However a small skilled in soldering iron is needed or you could damage your Video system.

WARNING : risk of electrical shock Please also keep in mind that for your safety, you must unplug power cord and wait at least 5 minutes to discharge all capacitors prior to operate your game console.

What are you going to need ? :

- The most important thing : the av mod-A soldering iron and a some solder wire- A drill with 6mm or 7mm bit (1/4")- Screwdrivers- a cutting pliers- A needle-nose pliers

- optionally a hot glue gun or a strong glue

This AV mod can be installed in less than 15mn but if it's the first time you do it,please take your time, you should be able to do the job in less than 30mn.

First ,remove these 5 screws

Once done,there is still three tabs to bend with aflat screwdriver (in blue on the picture). Ifyou'd brake them don't worry : it won't bevisible at the end

then remove gently the motherboard of your2600 from its plastic case.You're going to see a big metal shield presentin both side of the motherboard,we're going toneed to remove it to do the job.

Fortunately,the metal shield isn't soldered,it'sjust maintained from a side to the other bysome small bended tabs.

You just have to unbend each of these tabs(located in the back of the motherboard) witha needle-nose pliers to remove easily the metalshield.

Once removed you can forget it,we won't use itanymore as we're not going to use HF anymore

our beautiful motherboard is nude,we're goingto cut the contact with the RF part.To do that, we're going to remove 4

components. You can unsolder them but i've personaly simply used a cutting pliers ; Components to remove :

Done ! Now we're going to connect signals an power to yourAV mod ,only 4 solder points are needed.See the back ofyour AV mod to know which wire to solder ( ConcerningGND please solder the biggest wire to the motherboard)

Below are the 4 solder points to do :

Open 2 6-7mm (1/4") holeson the case to fix the rcachassis connectors.There is not much spaceinside 2600JR and so they isonly one convenient placewe've found ,just look at thispicture :

Fix the two RCA connectorson the chassis

Now solder the Audio-outon the white or red (mayvary) RCA connector ,solder de Video-out to thered or black RCA connector.Then connect both RCAGND together and to theGND power small wire ,justlike this :

you can now fix your AV mod with the double sided tape provided. There is a perfect place just behind the DB9 right controller. The result should be something like :

Time to test, place a cartridge, connect the A2600 to your TV and plug the power cord.You should have a noiseless brighter image.

If the image is not good enough, you can adjust it by turning the pot located near the on/off switch but actually it shouldn't be necessary

So then check everything one last time and you can close the case, place back the 5 screws and play !
