5. 11 – 15 Feb Meeting on the Revision of ATAF’s Model Double Taxation Agreement

10. 12 – 15 Mar ATAF/ATRN Workshop on Methods of Research and Dissemination
Strengthening the research capacity of researchers who are already working in the area of taxation but who feel their work could be improved with more rigorous and international accepted methods. This is a ’hands on’ learning where researchers will receive practical feedback on how to improve and disseminate their ongoing research.

14. 1-5 April ATAF/OECD Workshop on the Multilateral instrument (MLI)
MLI is a recommendation of BEPS Action 15 to enable tax jurisdictions to streamline the adoption of agreed measures and to ensure consistent adoption by participating jurisdictions. The objective is to take through countries that have joined and those intending to join to better understand the implications of signing and not signing into MLI.

21. 13 – 16 May ATAF Tax & Development Course
This course enables Civil society, development partners, policymakers and other practitioners to be brought up to speed with the current processes, initiatives and issues on taxation in developing countries, and to share knowledge. Key topics covered are tax and development, international taxation, sub-national taxation (i.e. property taxes) and tax collection and compliance.

The nexus is an ATAF initiative aimed at bringing together Policy-makers and Tax administrations in the aim of harmonising their perspectives and priorities on domestic resource mobilisation. After a successful first edition in 2017, the ATAF High-level Dialogue (Nexus) was tipped to becoming a recurring event and an essential aspect of ATAF’s efforts towards improving tax administration in Africa.
