Following the announcement of a 10 year partnership between Tottenham Hotspur and the NFL in July 2015, a minimum of two NFL London Games will be played at the new stadium per year. The first of these games will take place on Sunday 6 October and Sunday 13 October 2019.

The NFL London Games attract fans from throughout Europe and the USA creating an atmospheric, family friendly experience which everyone can enjoy. Fans typically like to arrive early to socialise, take part in fun NFL activities and games and enjoy some American style food.

NFL Welcome Zone – what to expect on game daysThe NFL Welcome Zone will create a dedicated area for fans ahead of the match. Throughout the day, NFL related activities will be hosted on the High Road for fans to enjoy as they arrive for the game. This will include fun photo opportunities, team areas and cheerleader performances to name but a few! These activities will be held within the NFL Welcome Zone and will be open to local residents.

The Local Area Management Plan for Major Event Days (MEDs) at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, including Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ), road closures and parking suspensions, will be in effect on NFL game days.

Due to the anticipated earlier arrival of NFL fans, the timings of the local road closures will be extended compared to a normal Tottenham Hotspur home matchday.

We advise local residents who wish to attend the NFL Welcome Zone to arrive as early as possible to avoid queues. We anticipate the local area will be very busy as kick off approaches.

Which local roads will be closed? The local road closures in effect for Major Event Days (MEDs) will be in place for the NFL London game days, however, the closures will have extended timings. Traffic marshals will close the High Road between White Hart Lane and Lordship Lane/Lansdowne Road, Park Lane (between Sutherland Road and High Road), Worcester Avenue and sections of Cedar Road, Ruskin Road, Bromley Road and Church Road. Please see the maps enclosed for more details. The closures will remain in place for up to 90 minutes after the game to allow people to leave the stadium and make their way home.

Four hours before kick off, vehicular access to Hampden Lane will not be permitted via the High Road. Vehicle access to Bromley Road will also not be permitted from this time.

Additionally, 30 minutes before the final whistle and up to 60 minutes after the game, White Hart Lane will close between the High Road and Love Lane. Park Lane will also close between Chalgrove Road and Park Avenue Road.

General traffic and Transport for London (TfL) buses will be on diversion to the east and west of the stadium once traffic marshals close the High Road. Residents and businesses who require vehicle access to their homes will need to enter via a Vehicle Permit Check Point. Access will be permitted using their CPZ permit, Homes for Haringey permit or Blue Badge parking permit or a valid proof of address. The six maps enclosed show each phase of the road closures and how they may affect you.

Parking suspensionsAs during normal MEDs, parking bay suspensions on the High Road, Worcester Avenue, Park Lane, Church Road, Brereton Road, William Street, Scotland Green, Love Lane and Whitehall Street will be in effect. The suspensions will be in place for an extended period due to the longer road closure times. In addition, pay and display bays will be suspended on the closed sections of Cedar Road, Ruskin Road, Bromley Road and Hampden Lane (resident parking bays will not be affected). This is due to NFL security protocols and the NFL Welcome Zone. These suspensions will be advertised at least seven days in advance by on-street signage. Please refer to the map and table to the right for full details and timings.

Shuttle bus and coach parking suspensionsAs during normal MEDs, the shuttle bus and coach parking suspensions on Tariff Road, West Road, Brantwood Road, White Hart Lane and Pretoria Road will be in place for the NFL games. The suspensions will be extended due to the longer road closure times and will vary for each game. Please refer to the table to the right for full timings.

Phase Two – 7.5 hours to 4 hours before kick offA perimeter will be in place restricting access for pedestrians with large bags (please see overleaf for NFL game day bag policy) on the east side of the High Road between White Hart Lane and Park Lane, on the north side of Park Lane from High Street to Worcester Avenue and on Worcester Avenue, as shown by the red dotted line in the map above.

This will be marked by a low level fence line and security stewards. Pedestrians with large bags will be asked to walk to their destination on the outer side of the fence line. Residents entering Worcester Avenue with large bags will be escorted by security to their homes.

Phase Three – 4 hours before kick offFour hours before kick off, no vehicles (except emergency vehicles) are permitted on the roads highlighted in navy blue on the map above. This is to ensure the safety and security of visitors to the stadium. Residents and businesses displaying a valid CPZ permit, Homes for Haringey permit or blue badge permit will be able to drive through the check points on the roads highlighted in purple. Traffic marshals will close the southern section of the High Road to Lansdowne Road/Lordship Lane.

Phase Five – 30 minutes prior to final whistle and up to 1 hour after the game30 minutes before the final whistle, traffic marshals will close the High Road to Lansdowne Road. The High Road access to Hampden Lane will close, restricting vehicular access to Hampden Lane via Park Lane. Bromley Road, White Hart Lane and the section of Park Lane between Chalgrove Road and Park Avenue Road will also close during these times.

Worcester Avenue and Park Lane will remain closed to allow people to leave the stadium up to 90 minutes after the game. Whitehall Street and Love Lane will have their parking bays suspended and be closed up to 90 minutes after the game to cater for normal game day queues at White Hart Lane station.

Phase Six – 1 hour to 90 mins after a gameTraffic Marshals will reopen the High Road Vehicle Permit Check Point at Hampden Lane and vehicles will be able to access Bromley Road. In addition, White Hart Lane and the section of Park Lane between Chalgrove Road and Park Avenue Road will be reopened. Worcester Avenue and Park Lane will remain closed to allow people to leave the stadium up to 90 minutes after the game. Vehicle Permit Check Points will end once roads reopen. As during normal MEDs, Leeside Road will be one way eastbound, and Willoughby Lane will be one way northbound for 1 - 2 hours after the game. If deemed safe to do so, roads will be reopened earlier.

WHICH LOCAL ROADS WILL BE CLOSED?

Phase Four – During the game and 30 minutes before the final whistleDuring the game, the Resident and Business Access permit zone will be reinstated for vehicles accessing Hampden Lane and Bromley Road only. The northern section (highlighted in navy blue) will remain closed to allow for the safe evacuation of the stadium in an emergency. Worcester Avenue and Park Lane will remain closed to all traffic. In addition, the perimeter fence line will be removed.

How will the road closures work?On NFL London game days, the MED Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) will be in place.

Due to the location of Bromley Road within the road closures, we will write separately to residents of Bromley Road to provide them with a specific Bromley Road CPZ vehicle permit. This is the only valid vehicle permit to Bromley Road during the road closures on NFL game days. Please note due to NFL security measures, access to Bromley Road will be restricted 4 hours before kick off, as detailed inside.

Due to the extended road closure timings, residents on Moselle Place, Lancaster Close and Gascoigne Place can apply for a visitor’s permit or Homes for Haringey permit for the NFL London game days. You can do so using the details below:

London Borough of Haringey www.haringey.gov.uk/parking-roads-and-travel/parking/parking-permits

Homes for Haringey www.homesforharingey.org/parking

London Borough of Enfield https://new.enfield.gov.uk/services/parking/parking-permits

Applications must be submitted by Friday 13 September.

NFL game day bag policyIncreased safety and security measures will be in place for NFL game days. This includes the restriction of large bags being brought into the stadium. A large bag is considered anything bigger than the approximate size of an A4 piece of paper.

Pedestrian accessPedestrian access will be unaffected, however, due to NFL security policy, a perimeter will be in place on the north side of Park Lane (between the High Road and Worcester Avenue), the east side of the High Road (between White Hart Lane and Park Lane) and both the road and footway of Worcester Avenue. This will consist of a low level fence line with breaks to allow people to move freely in between sections. Any pedestrians with large bags within the perimeter will be asked to walk on the west side of the High Road and the south side of Park Lane to their destination. Worcester Avenue residents requiring access with large bags will be escorted by security to their homes.

When will the games end?The average length of an NFL game is 3 hours, with the rare exception of when a game is extended by a brief period of overtime.
