• Number one message to parents: ALWAYS WAIT ON DOOR SIDE
• Letter was also posted on the front page of our company website and sent to various community newspapers
• Drivers newsletter highlighted Safety week message and teaching tips for kids
Complacency
• The problem continued and seemed to escalate and in fact in some areas, parents were putting themselves at risk at bus stops
• We asked drivers to please fill out the MTO reporting form• Drivers quit reporting because of the response from
police. • Did they actually do a circle check?• How can you be sure your over head lights were on?• Can you identify the driver and vehicle?
Close Call
• December 6th 2013 , we had a very, very close call with a vehicle passing a vehicle from the rear.
• What could we do differently? • Educate, educate and educate.• Keep talking• Asked for police presence at most vulnerable stop
