Letter from the

President

Welcome to the 2018-19 Tier II State Tournament. The PNAHA Board of Directors is pleased to

have the opportunity to return to this venue for a second time this year. This is our first half ice

tournament and the template for others in the future. The Tacoma organization has proven to be

an excellent host and always goes above and beyond to guarantee a memorable experience for

everyone.

PNAHA is proud to support the Tacoma Association for their dedication and hard work in organizing

this event. Holding a tournament requires the dedication of many volunteers and hours of work to

coordinate this event. I wish to extend our personal thank you to the Tournament Coordinator

Jessica Welsh-Turney and to her tournament staff and committee for all their diligent efforts.

Sponsors create a foundation for this sport to grow and flourish. It is the generous contributions of

sponsors that enable organizations like Tacoma to continue to host events of this nature. I

encourage everyone to review the materials in your coaching packets and browse through the

program to identify the tournament sponsors. When making choices for dining or activities, please

choose one of the sponsors and be sure to thank them for their continued support.

Another essential element is the Officials. The officials also need your support. No other industry

places you in a position where you have a 100% chance of having someone not agree with you.

The official has one of the toughest responsibilities of this game. Strive to make this event a

positive experience for these fine officials. Note that Zero Tolerance will be enforced at this

tournament. Please show proper respect for the referees, coaches and tournament officials

throughout the weekend.

A gracious thank you is extended to the parents. Thank you for your commitment to these

athletes. I know only too well how much you have sacrificed for your player to participate in this

great sport we call hockey. Take time to enjoy this weekend. The opportunity to share this sport

with your child will be over way before you are ready for it to end. Weekends like this are your

memories of the future. We need to all work together to frame those memories with pride and

joy.

To the player, this is YOUR weekend. This is the weekend we get the pleasure to watch as you

display the skills that you have learned on and off the ice. Take pride in the hard work and

accomplishments that have gotten you to this weekend. It is our wish that when you leave you

take home a real sense of accomplishment and the memories of a lifetime. Remember that this is a

game, play hard, but most of all have fun!
