OurbikingactivitystartsinthevillageofVelestovo,offroaduphilltotheKrstecpass.OnthewayupyouwillenjoytheviewstowardsOhridvalleyandOhridLake.Youwillexploreatrailondark-redsoilresemblingthesurfaceofMarsat1450m.a.s.l.(4600ft.).VisittheonlyislandinMacedoniaonLakePrespa,GolemGrad(PelicanIsland).TheuninhabitedislandishometoanendemicFoyajunipervariety(atypeoftree),numerousbirds(pelican,cormorant)andlotsofsnakes(thatiswhyitisalsoknownasthesnakeisland).LittlehikingadventuretotheLakojSignojpeak1970m.a.s.l(6500ft.),thelocationwherebothlakesmeetliketwopearlsonthepalmofthehand.Nextisaveryspiritualplace,themonasteryofSt.NaumandthemagicalspringsoftheRiverBlackDrim.WewillhavetheopportunitytovisittheBayofBones,prehistoricpiledwellingsettlementfromthe2ndmillenniumtothe8thcenturyB.C.ThenightbeforedepartingtoSkopjeAirport,youwilltastetheuniquenessofourlocalwinesandvisitthewineregionTikveš.

Day1–WildSpiridon&IslandGolemGrad,13thMay
Ourguide’swillgreetyouatyourchoiceofaccommodation.TransportationwillbeorganizedtothevillageofVelestovowhereouradventurewillbegin.Ridingoffroadanduphill,youwillclimbtotheKrstecpassat1555m.a.s.l.(5100ft).OntheKrstecpasswewillbeonaviewpointtowardsthefulllengthofthemountainSpiridon-Galichica.Stop-pointatmountainhouseAsanDjura,thisiswheredirtyroadopensintothekarstfieldsofJafa,andpassesbytheJafapond-thehabitatoftheendemicTriturusMacedonicus.AfterashortbreakinthemountainhutwecontinuethroughtheSuvoPole(DryFields)area.WereachtheasphaltpartoftheroadatthesiteDvaJavori(Twomapletrees)at1510m.a.s.l.(4900ft.)fromwheredownhillbeginsontheeastsideofthemountaintowardsLakePrespa.Shortly,wearebackondirtroadcombinedwithsingletrail,throughthedensebeechforest,passingthevillageofLeskoecwherewereachthecoastofLakePrespaatvillageStenje.Thisiswherewewillspendthenight-inHotelRiva.Thehostswillpreparetraditionalfishappetizersontheterrace.Afterashortbreak,wecontinuetothevillageofKonjskoondirtroadaroundPrechnapeninsula.There,asmallboat–dingywilltransferustotheislandofGolemGrad.ThelegendsandtheremainsofChristianbasilicasspeakofthevividpastoftheisland.Previouslytheislandwasvisitedbyresearchersandscientistsbutalsobypeoplecuriousandhungryforknowledge.Itthrivesinherbalandanimalspeciessomeofwhichareendemic.TheIslandispartoftheNationalParkGalichica.Afterourislandadventure,wecarryoutagainontwowheelsondirtroad,ridingbacktoHotelRiva.Dinnerwillbeservedandwehavetimetorestuntilthenextday.
Day2–LakosignoyPeak&MonasterySt.Naum,14thMay
Afterbreakfast,wevisitthevillageandsomelocalbee-keeperstasting100%naturalhoney.Usingacomfortablevan,wewilltransferto“Babapass”atanaltitudeof1580m.a.s.l.(5200ft),wherewetakeoffonourhikingtriptotheLakosignoypeak,at1980m.a.s.l.(6500ft),whichoffersanoutstandingpanoramicviewofbothOhridandPrespalakes.ThisareaisalsoahabitattotheSideritasScardica,anauthentictypeofteaforwhichthenationalparkGalichicaisfamousfor.Hikingback,wejumponourbikesandcontinuetheKoritskiRidviewpointat1420m.a.s.l.(4600ft.).WedescendtotheMonasteryComplexofSt.NaumsituatedatthelakeshorewhereweovernightatthehotelComplex“St.Naum”.DinnerwillbeorganizedatrestaurantCubaLibre(neartheaccommodation).Day3–WildCoast&BayofBones,15thMay
BreakfastisservedontheterraceofthecomplexwiththeviewofOhridLake.WestartbikingonasphaltroadascendingtotheDervenpass890m.a.s.l.(2900ft)followedbyafastdownhilltothevillageofTrpejca.BoattourtoZaum–themostunapproachablepartofthecoastandthedeepestpointoftheLakethatisknownforitscleanestwatersandthesmallchurchofSt.BogorodicaZahumska.Wecontinuebikingonsingletrailrightabovethelake,ridingthroughthewildcoast,withastunningviewtothelake’shorizon.ThisridewilltakeustoChokolskopicnicplacewherewewilltakeabreakandenjoyasnack.
BackontoasphaltroadwevisittheBayofBones,apre-historicsettlementfromthe2ndmillenniumtothe8thcenturyB.C.RidingthroughsteepupanddownroadasphaltroadwereachthevillageofPeshtaniandthefinalpointtothevillageofElshani,950m.a.s.l.(3100ft)atRisto'sGuestHouse.Onceyoucatchyourbreath,youwillbedividedintotwogroupsandhaveachancetoeitherstartridingadonkeythatwilltakeyouonashorttripthroughthevillageoranethno-massage,bothofwhichwillbeincludedinpackage.
Day4–EthnoVillage&TikveshVineRegion,16thMay
Thenewdaybeginswithanotheradventure,butthistimewithoutbikes.WeheadtothewineregionTikveš-theheartofMacedonia’swine.OurfirstexplorationtriptakesustoHeracleaLyncestis–remainingsofasettlement,foundedbyPhilipIIofMacedon,fatherofAlexandertheGreatinthemiddleofthe4thcenturyB.C.HeracleawasastrategicallyimportanttownduringtheHellenisticperioduntilthemiddleofthe2ndcenturyB.C.whentheRomansconqueredMacedonanddestroyeditspoliticalpower.Fromthere,wejumpbackinthevanforashort,10minuteridetoBitolawherewewillenjoyalunchatthefamousbazaar–ShirkSokak.AswedriveEast,wepassthroughPelagonia(thelargestplainsinMacedonia)andfinallywearriveattheTikveshregionknownforitsendlesswinefields.Wewillhavetheopportunitytovisittheirlocalwineriesandtastetheirworld-renownedandawardwinningwinesandfindoutmoreabouttheancientMacedonianswhoinhabitedthisarea.AconfirmationoftheworshippedDionysus,thegodofwinewasfoundinthecopiousrepresentationsofgrapesandvinescarvedinstone,marbleandterracottathatcanbeseeninKavadarciandNegotino,andinthemuseumsofBelgrade,SofiaandBerlin.ТhedaywillendwithdinnerandwinetastingatthewineryPopovaKulawherewewillbeaccommodatedforthenight.Day5–SkopjeAirport,17thMay
