INTRODUCTION :

FLYCAM showcased its new Buddy Mini Gimbal Camera Stabilizer, an ultimate gimbal for smaller cameras. It’s expertly designed to transform your shaky handheld shots into silky smooth professional looking footage. It comes with quick release mechanism that allows the operator to change camera setups and re-balance the entire system very quickly. A thumb controller is installed in the center that automatically balances the cam-era. Attaching a small monitor to it, makes framing more accurate.. DETAILS OF THE PACKAGE : You will receive the kit unassembled in one box.. Unpack the box to check for the package contents, whether you have received all the contents according to your purchase or not.

Assembling Steps of Gimbal Stand

Loosen the Allen bolts with provided Allen key from both jointers.

Now attach 35cm rods (without cut) with jointers and tighten with Allen bolts.

Attach the other 28cm long rods (having cut) with the jointer and tighten it well with Allen key. The Gim-bal Stand is ready for use now.

NOTE: Keep the cuts upper side on rods

Installing top handle as shown below. Be sure the gimbal is not obstructed during a 360 degree pan.

Mounting the Camera

Attach the quick release plate to your camera using the 1/4" screw, this quick release plate allow you to easily install, balance and remove your camera.

Install lens fixed bracket, connection piece, then adjust the camera height, make sure camera lens and lens fixed bracket are stable.

Note: Before you install lens fixed bracket, make sure you have mounted the camera well.

Then attach the 41cm long rod with the jointer as shown and Join another jointer to the top of this 41cm long rod.


Batteries Installation

Take out the plug, put 4 pieces 18650 batteries into tube (as below) , make sure batteries are connect well.

NOTE: This gimbal only use 18650 battery, do not use other style battery; Before you start using gimbal, be sure to charge the battery first; When you install the battery, power off it first; If battery not correct installation, power supply may break off.

Balancing Gimbal

To achieve the best performance from the Flycam Buddy Mini, proper balancing is necessary and a must. Ac-curate balance is critical in shots where the Flycam Buddy Mini will be subjected to extreme movements or accelerations (running, horseback riding, biking, car mounts, helicopters, etc.) Proper balance will also offer a longer battery runtime. There are 3 axes that need to be accurately balanced prior to powering the Flycam Buddy Mini on and setting up the software.

NOTE: The camera needs to be fully setup with all accessories prior to installing and balancing the camera on the gimbal. If you are balancing the camera with a lens cap on, be sure to remove the lens cap prior to bal-ancing. Be sure whenever balancing the camera that the Flycam Buddy Mini’ s power is turned off.

Step 1: Balancing the Tilt Axis

First, we need to balance the camera fore and aft on the Tilt Axis. When the proper fore and aft tilt balance is achieved, the camera will stay level when you remove your

hands.

Step 2: Balancing the Vertical Tilt

To adjust the vertical balance, you will need to change the camera’ s vertical position. When proper bal-ance is achieved, you can rotate the camera to any tilt angle, and it will stay in that position.

Step 3: Balancing the Roll Axis

Loosen the adjustment screw to allow the roll to side left and right. Slide the roll left or right until the Roll Axis remains level. Tighten the screws.

Step 4: Balancing the Pan Axis

The entire mass below the pan motor must be balanced on the central axis line of the pan motor. To achieve this balance, you must slide the pan axis fixed button. Loosen the two screws on the pan axis fixed button to slide the assembly. Identify if the Flycam Buddy

Mini is front heavy or rear heavy, slide the pan fixed button forwards or backwards to balance it. While the Flycam Buddy Mini is resting on the balancing stand, try rotating the Flycam Buddy Mini along

the pan axis by lifting one side of the handle bar. If the camera does not swing, the pan axis is properly balanced. Ensure you tighten the adjustment screw after balancing is completed

Using Joystick

1. Control direction The movement direction is same as the camera.

2. LED Indicator When the Flycam Buddy Mini working, the LED Indicator is red.

3. Change Working Mode There are three modes in the Flycam Buddy Mini: 1 click, it is follow yaw and follow tilt mode, beeping means mode switch successfully. 2 clicks, it is follow yaw and lock tilt mode, beeping means mode switch successfully. 3 clicks. It is lock yaw and lock tilt mode, beeping means mode switch successfully. 4 clicks, it is swap RC yaw and roll mode, beeping means mode switch successfully. 5 clicks, it is frame upside/down (inverse yaw) mode, Long press, it is calibrating the acceleration, beeping means successfully.

Maintenance The Flycam Buddy Mini is a precise machine and it is not water resistant. Keep it away from sand and dust during usage. After use, it is recommended to wipe the Flycam Buddy Mini down with a soft dry cloth. Never spray any cleaning liquids onto the Flycam Buddy Mini.

Warning Notes Do not rotate Roll Axis and Pitch Axis (in one direction ) too many times, otherwise the cables will be tan-

gled or damaged. Do not move the cage by your hands when the gimbal power on, please use the joystick to control the

movement, otherwise the motors might be damaged. Do not upgrade or downgrade the firmware, the PID at random, otherwise the parameter might not

match to controller board. It might cause the gimbal work abnormal. If you have to upgrade firmware, please check with us which version is suitable in advance. During the up-grade please note it takes about 10-30 seconds to finish. DO NOT disconnect the USB cable (or break wireless connect) while firmware is uploading, otherwise the controller board will be malfunctioned. When using the joystick, please don’t press it too hard. Because the joystick is setup sensitive. Only using

your thumb slide gently to control it. Before you power on the gimbal, please make sure all the screws are locked tightly. When you balance the gimbal by your hands, after you loose locking screws, please don't stretch connec-

tion part too hard, please slide gently to move it. Especially roll axis and yaw axis. There are wires inside, if you stretch it too hard, it might damage wires inside.

WARNINGS Make sure that you are very careful when using the Flycam Buddy Mini Gimbal Camera Stabilizer at night or in low light conditions. Do not make the mistake of focusing too much on what you are shooting that you fall over something, or wander into something dangerous like a swimming pool etc. and be extra care-ful when shooting on stairs or uneven terrains etc. These cautions pertain to daytime shooting as well.

Make sure that all children using this product have adult supervision. If you plan on shooting while moving fast or while moving on uneven terrain, then be sure to wear knee and elbow pads.

RETURN POLICY How to return or exchange an item:

Should you have any problems with your item once It is received, please contact us as soon as possible so we can discuss a solution. Don’t return the unit without informing us first. Please don’t leave nega-tive feedback/dispute without first communicating with us.

Approved returns will be subjected to inspection on arrival. The Item must be returned in original con-dition and the original packaging. Refunds will be provided within 24 hrs after receiving the returned product.

Our warranty does not cover damages caused by misuse (i.e. Physical or liquid damage).

All Shipping charges are non-refundable.

Return delivery costs are responsibility of buyer. We will cover the complete cost of sending replace-ment parts during our 6 month warranty period.

All non-defective returns must be in new, re-sellable condition with all original unmarked packaging, accessories, manuals and unmarked warranty cards. Items showing signs of misuse or abuse will not be accepted for credit.

Upon expiration of our standard warranty, replacement parts will be provided to the customer at nominal cost. Actual shipping costs will apply however.
