The Annual Sports Day was a huge success. We are very proud of all the students who participated and the stupendous efforts put by the teachers, mentors and the sup- porting staff. We at St. Mary‟s believe that the main aim of education is holistic development of a child. Such events are important as they motivate the students, nurture their talents and give every student a sense of achievement and contribution. However, every year, it is very sad to see that many students and parents cannot see this objective and choose not to participate. If we have a dream, we need to work towards it from the very beginning . We should not expect things to happen overnight. The students of classes X and XII will be taking board exams soon. Planning a daily time-table and consistent efforts to follow it can boost the performance of the stu- dents. Success in life depends not only on academic excellence but on many other factors, discipline being the first and foremost. Discipline does not only mean, minding man- ners but also practicing it in everything we do. Speaking in English is a necessary equipment in life as it gives an individual a competitive edge over the others in any field. One can only become fluent in the language if constant efforts are made towards ensuring that the language is used for daily conversations. There is no better place than school to do so. Hence, we keep reiterating this fact to all our students. Good health has become a great challenge in today‟s time with so many environmental hazards, lifestyle related problems, food habits and especially advancement in technology. Sports, games, outdoor activities, yoga, meditation and other exercises are necessary. In school, we try our best but at home our children need both vigilance and guidance to develop into healthy individuals. It is very important for each student to develop a hobby as hobbies ensure that they are occupied at all times. Consequently, they have lesser time to indulge in harmful activities , Through the various activities, programmmes and competitions, the school provides an opportunity to the students to identify their talents and potential. Read- ing is one such hobby which can make a student outstanding . We want all our students to be avid readers and explore their chances of becoming exceptional . We have been struggling for long with the non-payment of fee. Despite reminders, some parents do not adhere to the time-line and have been extremely impolite to the teachers when they remind. Our children observe and emulate us all the time. We need to set right examples for them to follow. It is only then we can expect our children to live their lives competently and with principles. The evening was packed with brilliant performances by all the talented students, accentuating the significance of sports in our lives. The program began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Major D.P. Singh (a Kargil veteran) and Principal Ms. Sheelu Mathew. This was fol- lowed by a graceful dance performance by the students of Std. XI on the hymn „Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam‟. The Principal then presented the Annual School report, giving an insight about the plethora of activities carried out in the school. The breathtaking display of yoga asanas, postures, artistic yoga and pranayamas on the tune of Adiyogi was highly appreciated. Charged, young Taekwondians mesmerized the audience with their commendable talent. Scintillating dancers performed Lavani and Rajasthani dances, beautifully capturing the true essence of rich Indian culture with their vibrant costumes and melodious tunes. The students from Std. VI -XII performed a wonderfully synchronized drill with colorful pompoms, dumbbells, skipping ropes and bars. The talented guitarists, drummers and pianists enchant- ed the audience with their recreation of the Minuet in G by Yohann Sebastian Bach. The choir students performed a number of songs, highlighting the importance of determination and sportsmanship. The students of Std. IX-X kept the audience on their feet with a peppy Zumba performance. The show ended on a high note with the students of Std. XII presenting an entertaining and enthralling bhangra dance performance. The chief guest Major D.P. Singh addressed the gathering, emphasizing on the importance of attitude, skills and above all, discipline to achieve success in all spheres of life. He also applauded the ef- forts made by the teachers and students for putting up a wonderful show. 04.08.2018-The „Open Day‟ was organized on the theme 'Imagine, Inspire, Invent .' The students presented their work on an array of topics ranging from Road safety, food science, space, artificial intelligence, sustainable development goals and GIS -the navigator. 17.11.2018-We celebrated our Annual Sports Day on the theme „Khelo INDIA‟. The evening was packed with brilliant performances by all the talented students, accentuating the significance of sports in our lives. The program began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Major D.P. Singh (a Kargil veteran) and Principal Ms. Sheelu Mathew. This was fol-lowed by a graceful dance performance by the students of Std. XI on the hymn „Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam‟. 11.10.2018-12.10.2018-Kunika Toura (Std. XI), Divyanshi Jha (Std. 11), Tushti Chakraborty (Std. XII) and Vidhi Vashishth (Std. XI) won the first position in the School Students‟ Conference (SSC) to discuss and deliberate on the theme of “Clean Water and Sanitation: A Human Right” at Delhi University Sustainable Forum

23.10.2018– Vaibhav Yadav (Std. XI) and Yogen Udhar (Std. XI) won the 2nd position in Me-meonomics at Delhi Public School Dwarka,

25.10.2018- Pranav Grover (Std. V) won the second prize in Junior Solo Origami at Tagore International School Vasant Vihar organized by Japanese Embassy.

02.11.2018– Our students won the second posi-tion in Group Dance and the third in Group Song at Foundation School,

21.10.2018-Bisleen Kaur (Std. V), Bhavika Bhas-in (Std V) and Aaryan Singh (Std. V) won 1st position in Tale-e-thon at Indian Heights School.

21.07.2018-Meemansha Yadav (Std. VI) won the second and third position in different categories of Karate championships held in New Delhi at International Level.

16.11.2018-Kanak Kaushik (Std. 6) secured a bronze medal in the fencing championship. She also secured a gold in the State and Delhi Olym-pics and a bronze in the district level. She has been selected to represent the state in the School National Games 2018.

At State level: 15.08.2018-Sharanya Sharma (Std 8) won the 2nd position in Taekwondo at Delhi Olympics and the 3rd position at a tournament organized by CBSE. She also won the 3rd position in the Rope skipping.

15.09.2018-At the Delhi State Fencing Champi-onship 20 students participated and won 8 silver and 8 bronze medals.

18.09.2018-Bhavya (Std. 2) secured the gold medal in skating organized by CBSE

In the tournaments organized by CBSE 20.09.2018-Daksh Dev Solanki, Ishant Solanki and Samarth Kathuria secured the second posi-tion in Judo. They have won the 1st position in the zonals and were also selected for the National Level.

At Zonals: 05.09.2018- Jai Kundra, Daksh Dev Solanki and Disha Solanki (Std. 8) secured the second posi-tion in the artistic rhythmic yoga

23.10.2018- Anushka Yadav (Std. 8) second position in the 200m race athletics

It is the biggest gathering of geographic information system (GIS) profession-als united by a common purpose of making our world a better place through innovative applica-tions in GIS technology.

IX) attended a two day workshop at Microsoft, Gurugram 14.11.2018– Our students of Std.IV and V at-tended a mega event Skypeathone organized by Microsoft where they got the opportunity to in-teract with the educators and the students from various countries like United States, Brazil, Vi-etnam, Thailand, Ukraine, Netherlands and Rus-sia.

24.08.2018-The students of Eco Club celebrated Raksha Bandhan as Vriksha Bandhan to encour-age the interdependence and respect our trees for giving us clean air & protecting us from the haz-ards of life threatening air pollution. 31.08.2018-Two of our teachers, Reema Chand and Anima Dey attended a “Karo Sambhav School programme” in association with Public Health Foundation of India and HRIDAY on the topic Shaping and Enabling Behavioral Change. 01.09.2018- Students of Std. 30.10.2018-31.10.2018-Our school hosted the Sankalp Sahodaya Kho-Kho tournament for Jr. girls in which seven teams participated. Shiksha Bharti Global School lifted the winner‟s trophy.

17.10.2018-26.10.2018- Our four NCC girls at-tended the Camp at NCC office, Safdurjung En-clave and won the first position in group dance and group song. Aakarshna (Std. X) won the 2nd position in solo dance, Tisha Gupta (Std. X) won the 2nd position in Solo song. Pridhi Chahal (Std. X) won the 1st position and Tisha Gupta (Std. X) won the 2nd position in poster making.

01.08.2018--The preliminary test for the Word Pro Championship was organized in the school on in which 321 participants from standard VI-VIII. Prior to the competition extra classes were held during the summer vacations and after to prepare the students for the test. Ishaan Teotia of class VIII was declared the school topper in the test with the highest score. Shatvik Smit and Parth Pandey were the toppers from classes VI and VII respectively.27 other students were declared the super achievers. 23.08.2018-Mrs. Nisha Batra and Mrs. Preeti Kokcha have been conferred with Microsoft Inno-vative Education Expert (MIEE) badge for the

year 2018-19 for their support in driving the use of technology in classrooms. 16.11.2018-Our school was awarded the trophy for the Top Performing School in Dwarka at the Grand Finale of the Word Pro Competition held at Deen Dayal University on 16th November 2018.Our Principal, Ms.Sheelu Mathew was also felicitated at the function for achieving excel-lence in the field of education. The event was attended by 30 Super Achievers of WordPro from our school. Ishaan Teotia (Std.VIII), the Word Pro Challenger from our school made it to the top six. All the Super Achievers were award-ed certificates.

07.08.2018-Two of our teachers, Ms. Sangeeta Maria and Ms. Reema Chand attended an aware-ness programme on Menstrual Hygiene Manage-ment for School Teachers held at Ganga Ram Hospital. 18.08.2018– Ms. Renu Sharma and Ms. Sang-eeta Maria attended a workshop organized by Domes at 29.08.2018-30.08.2018- Ms. Nisha Batra and Ms. Preeti Kokcha attended MIEE meet orga-nized by Microsoft at Venketashwar School, Dwarka 13.09.2018-14.09.2018-Ms. Reena Khurana Ms. Pooja Sharma ,Ms. Shobha Prasanna attended the CBSE Capacity Building workshop for Phys-ics teachers at Ramjas School, R. K. Puram. 28.09.2018- A workshop for teachers was orga-nized for the teachers on Office 365 fin the school premises. 14.09.2018-Ms. Usha Yadav and Ms. Sunita Singh attended the celebration of Hindi Diwas organized by Madhuban Publications at P.H. D. Chambers of Commerce. 17.09.2018-Our School is a YES (Youth Engag-ing Society) centre for The International Award for Young People (IAYP) which is the most adaptable and successful youth empowerment program. Mrs. Anupama Sharma and Mrs. Mini Sibi (Award Leaders of IAYP) attended the workshop regarding the activities to be conduct-ed in the School. 23.09.2018-A workshop was organized for the Science teachers to try hands-on activities based on STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) in the school premises. 08.10.2018-09.10.2018-Mrs. Reena Khurana (HM Middle School) and other Physics teachers attended the workshop on teaching and learning Physics -Constructivist Approach at DPS, Gurugram 12.10.2018-13.10.2018- Mrs. Anupama Sharma attended the workshop on Hindi – Std.
