Currently there are 10 churches signed up for the assessment. This Thursday, May 3, will be our annual Sugar Time at Cobbtown Bap- tist. The Sugar and monies given will go to support the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home in Baxley. All are invited to this wonderful time of fellowship, a salad supper will be served beginning at 6:45. Thursday is also National Day of Prayer. I know there are several events planned around the Association. Plan to spend some time on Thursday praying for our nation. The next Executive Committee Meeting will be Thursday, May 17 at Noah’s Ark in A-Line. We will also participate in dedicating the new building during this meeting. Directions to Noah’s Ark: travel to Cobbtown. Take Highway 57 out of Cobbtown (left at the fork when traveling north). Travel under Interstate 16. At the 4-way stop turn left onto Highway 46. Good Morning Jesus! Thank you for making us to be fishers of men! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord for such a wonderful opportunity to have beauti-ful days to fish! The Men’s Ministry hosted the Annual Fishing derby, Satur-day, April 21, 2018 from 8:00a.m. to 12:00 noon. We had an incredible day of fishing that brought in 65 fish weighing from 3 to 5 pounds! Yes, that’s right; 3 to 5 pounders!! If you missed this fishing derby, you missed one incredible day of fishing. The math equates to close to 200lbs of fish! WOW! It was so awesome to see the faces of these kids catching fish that they could barely pull out of the water. This is the opportunity we adults need to seize to teach our kids to play and pray. I hope everyone is paying attention, because if you are not, you kids are slipping in to the world and Satan will steal kill and destroy their lives. Let’s don’t let that happen. And we are not to keep the light of Jesus under a basket, we are to share. There are other kids out there that need your attention. They may not have the opportunity that our kids have, they may be suffering from broken home or may be neglected by the adults in their lives. We need to be the Light of Jesus to them: We may be all the Jesus that the receive. Make every effort to mentor to these young boys. We had a fine group of young men fishing and we had prizes for the Biggest Fish, the most fish and a grand prize drawing for a Loaded Tackle Box! Here are the results: Total Fish Caught: 65 Most Fish Caught: Winner: Josh Beasley (15 fish) Biggest Fish: Winner: Asher McNair (4.5lb.) Grand Prize: Winner: Anthony Duke

Special Thanks to our Host: Keith Harvey Also, I want to thank EVERYONE who helped in anyway. I have learned that these events cannot happen with one or two. It takes a team and we had an awesome team. From individuals who helped log in names to those who brought the kids and those who helped remove fish and those who helped with the lunch. It was wonderful, and I thank you all. Please remember this is just one way to shar\e Jesus with our kids and to receive a blessing as well. May God Bless all your endeavors, Thank you! Your brother in Christ,

~Steve~ MATTHEW 4:19

And he saith unto them, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Women With a Heart for God’s Work

Association-wide Women’s Ministry Update

Dear Sisters In Christ, I pray everyone has had a wonderful April, 2018. Our Associational WMU Team Meeting was hosted by Claxton First on Tuesday, April 3rd at 7:00. Jerry Swain and her WMU Ladies prepared a delicious meal and the social hall was beauti-fully decorated. Our main focus was on the Sugar Time Banquet to be held on May 3, 2018 at Cobbtown Baptist at 6:45 p.m. Every WMU Lady is to bring a big salad of your choice. Your church is responsible for getting their sugar and sugar related items to Cobbtown church by 6:45. Mike Myers and his assistant will be at the church at 4:00 p.m. to receive your sugar, sugar related items, or your money for the Baptist Children’s Home in Baxley. The Sugar Time Banquet is always a blessing for the Children’s Home, and our Associational WMU will be observing The National Day of Prayer. On Tuesday, May 15, 2018, the Associational WMU Planning Meeting will be at Pineview Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m. This is the meeting where the events for the year 2019 are planned. Please be at this meeting so you can chose the event you want your WMU to host. If there is not a representative from your church, your church maybe selected to host an event. Let us remember all our mothers on Sunday, May 13, 2018 on Mother’s Day!!

God has blessed all of us with beautiful and loving mothers I close with a Big Thank You to all WMU Ladies in the TEBA for all of your hard work through all the mission projects we have done for so many this year. May God Bless You for doing the work of Lord. In Christian Love, Sandra Powell 3

Ministry Leaders,

The search committee for the executive director of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board has begun the search for the next leader of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board. Following the establishment of the committee, the process officially began on April 12, dedicating that meeting to prayer. The committee is in the listening stage of the process, which includes listening to God, Georgia Baptist Convention leadership, Southern Baptist Convention leadership, and all GA Baptists.

The committee invites you to attend one of the three listening sessions:

May 4, Ingleside Baptist Church in Macon from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. May 11, Northside Baptist Church in Valdosta from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. May 25, GA Baptist Mission Board Chapel in Duluth from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

The Christian Index has two articles worth reading: Executive Director Search Committee is Named for White's Successor and Executive Director Search Committee Releases Prayer Guide Prior to Beginning its Work. The search committee is accepting recommendations through May 31. Please send your letter of recommendation and the candidate’s resume [email protected].

Thank you for joining us in prayer during this season in the life of Georgia Baptists.
