Scouting the Green KinghtsSt. Norbert finished last season 22-5 and earned a trip to the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament where it defeated UW-Stevens Point 71-57 in the first round. The Green Knights won the Midwest Conference regular season championship finishing with a 15-1 record. St. Norbert defeated Lake For-est in the Midwest Conference tournament championship game. The Green Knights return nearly all of their scoring from a year ago, including senior guard Morgan Strasser who led the team in scoring last year averaging 11.7 points per game.

Scouting the Lumber JillsNorthland finished 16-11 in 2007-08, a year in which they made it to the championship game of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference tournament. The Lumber Jills return junior forward Chelsea Lundgren who finished second on the team in scoring a year ago, averaging 12.6 points per game a year ago. St. Norbert holds a 1-0 all-time series lead with Northland.

Scouting the Blue DevilsStout enters the 2008-09 campaign after finishing 17-10 a year ago. The Blue Devils made it to the semifinals of the Wisconsin intercollegiate Athletic As-sociation tournament last season before losing to UW-Eau Claire. Senior forward Julia Hissig is the lead the team in scoring last season averaging 16.1 points per contest. St. Norbert holds a 11-0 all-time series lead with Stout.

Scouting the CardinalsNorth Central (Ill.) posted an 11-14 record a year ago. The Cardinals return second-team All-CCIW pick Brianne Parra from last years team. Parra aver-aged 13.5 points per game in 2007-08. St. Norbert leads the all-times series with North Central 2-0.

St. Norbert beat Edgewood Col-lege in the first round. St. Norbert guard Morgan Strasses was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after her 30-points performance in the championship game. St. Norbert’s Cortney Biese was also named to the All-Tournament Team.

Tilley HonoredAt the conclusion of last season, St. Norbert head coach Connie Tilley was named the Cen-tral Region Coach of the Year by D3hoops.com.

500Last season, St. Norbert became just the sec-ond Wisconsin Division III school to win 500 games with its 55-54 win over Beloit on Jan. 12. St. Norbert currently owns a 515-263 re-cord, making it the winningest Division III bas-ketball program in Wisconsin history.

Head of the ClassSince 2002-03 St. Norbert owns an 81-15 record in Midwest Conference games. This is good for the best record amongst MWC teams. Lake Forest holds the second best record during that span with a 74-22 record.

Milestone AheadSt. Norbert head coach Connie Tilley currently has 488 career wins at the helm of the women’s basketball program. With 12 more wins this year, Tilley will reach the 500-win plateau, making her only the 13th coach in NCAA Divi-sion III history to reach that mark.

Home Sweet HomeSt. Norbert owns a 241-74 record in home games under Connie Tilley, and are 56-14 since the 2002-2003 sea-son. The Green Knights have only had one losing record in home games since 1977-78. St. Norbert went 3-7 in at home during the 1995-96 sea-son.
