The Berks County Bar Association (BCBA) and the Law Foundation of Berks County in Reading, PA, are accepting applications for the positions of Executive Director.As the Executive Director for both entities, the person acts as the Chief Operating Officer of the BCBA, an organization of approximately 650 attorneys with a board of directors, as well as for the Law Foundation of Berks County, a non-profit orga-nization governed by a separate board of trustees. The Executive Director is a full-time, FLSA exempt employee. He or she oversees the financial and operational activities of the BCBA and Law Foundation, including management of the headquarters building and administration of education, commu-nity outreach, fundraising efforts, grant-making, as well as social and professional activities. The position requires excellent communication skills, financial management exper-tise, advanced technological skills, and the ability to work effectively with people to represent the BCBA and Law Foundation. The position regularly requires work in excess of 40 hours per week, and travel. Candidate must have at least 10 years’ professional experience, preferably in the non-profit or legal sector, with strong organizational skills, fundraising experience, familiarity with the legal profession and ability to effectively manage staff. Lead-ership skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships within a diverse community are essential. A 4 year college degree is required, with a graduate level degree, especially a Juris Doctor, strongly preferred. Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain ef-fective interactions with victims and their children and knowledge of direct service operations. Commitment to ongoing personal development and ability to think “outside the box.”Dedication to assisting those who have been victimized or marginalized in society.

Salary is dependent upon experience and qualifications, within a range of $45,000 - $58,000 per year.
