Assisted Programmes

Assisted Programmes offer courses for students with additional needs, who want to develop their educational and work skills and build their confidence. All of our full time courses, including; New Directions, College Group and Independent Living, offer opportunities to experience vocational subjects from areas such as Hospitality and Creative Industries. These courses also help students develop their core skills profiles in Communication, Numeracy, ICT, Working with Others and Problem Solving.

All of the courses within the Assisted Programmes centre are designed to encourage people to try new activities, improve self-confidence and develop employability skills. We also aim to make learning a fun and sociable experience, which will be relevant to students’ lives outside the College.

Our courses are built around a support structure which offers appropriate individual attention to students at every level.

West Lothian College has a range of access and progression routes to meet the needs of a variety of learners with additional learning needs. Our courses include a range of qualifications that are particularly suited to helping you progress in your learning and are delivered both full time and on a part time basis.

Students will be advised on an individual basis on progression within college and in partnership with West Lothian Council what other opportunities are available.
