Assignment One (Unit 16 – P1, M1, D1 (interim for GC4))/(Unit 12 – P1, M1, D1 )
INTRODUCTION:The aim of this assignment is to examine ways to promote art and design work in tandem with analysis of how digital media plays a roll in contemporary A&D practice. Learners should explore different ways by finding out information and collecting examples of promotional material. This first assignment will help inform initial ideas generation for later assignments involving your self-promotion campaign in your given pathway. Learners should address why there is a need to promote art and design work and give examples of how this can be achieved.
Learners will achive the aims of this assignment by looking at a variety of different ways and contexts in and around promoting Art & Design work– (e.g. leaflets, postcards, websites, adverts), give examples of other promotions (e.g. radio and TV adverts, film trailers, coupons, free samples.)
TASKS: (All work to be professionally presented on BLOG, with correct Harvard Anglia Referencing)
TASK 1: (Covers Grading Criteria For U16-P1,M1,D1/part of P4,M4,D4)250 words minimum (in your own words) responding to the following question*:
“Why is it important for artists and designers to promote their work”
*Aim to use at least 2 different references to back up your claim. Annotate them using Harvard Anglia referencing, at the bottom of your blog entry. Reference the use of digital media in todays use of promotion.
