Scenario You have the opportunity to showcase your multi discipline welding skills for a job vacancy with Steeltown Design, a North East Engineering firm. You have been asked to demonstrate your advanced knowledge of welding practices as well as your understanding of testing welds, proper technique and procedures and welding type suitability for a particular process.
Task This will provide evidence for M1 analyse the effect of using incorrect welding parameters for a selected welding process including the effects on quality and safety when producing welded components M2 discuss the advantages and disadvantages of two welding processes considering consumables, equipment, technique and quality for a given welding application. D1 justify the selection of a welding process for a given application when producing welded components D2 evaluate the benefits and limitations of using a non-destructive inspection methods on welded components.
