Hi, I am Mathias from Lima Peru, let me tell you that this section have helped me a lot inunderstanding what Synths are. Today I am gonna show you 4 different Synths, 3 of Logic proX’s library and one extra which is Omnisphere in order to demonstrate the presence of the 5most common synth settings which are: Oscillator, Filter, Amplifier, Envelope   and LFO . Let’sstart with Logic’s synths:

As you can see, this synth give us much more possibilities, for example it gives us a “mix” in theoscillator, where we can combine to wave forms and control the amount of mix between themand also it gives us a Mod Envelope.

ES 2 Synth:

This Synth gives us even more possibilities, it has 3 selectable and combinable oscillators, 2filters, an amplifier that includes some effects as tone or flanger, 3 different Envelopes and twoLFO’s. what counts here is the combination of all to get crazy sounds !.

RETRO SYNTH:

This synth also have to combinable oscillator shapes, two envelopes and includes a nice effectsetting, which you can see selected as Flanger to the right of the AMP.

OMNISPHERE SYNTH

This is a very powerful synth because although it has the same parameters of others, you caninclude samples inside your Oscillator mix, without having to increase the number of channels ina DAW, resulting in LOTS of memory usage reduction.

In conclusion, we can say that the main 5 parameters of Synths will always be present, howeverthey vary in quantity of of the 5 parameters and some extra settings such as effects, samples orextra filters. I think its very important to understand the main 5 features so you can play alongwith any synth out there.
