Educational Initiatives (EI), creators of the ASSET assessment and Mindspark learning programme, today announced that the second edition of ASSET Summer Programme (ASP) would start at Manipal University in Manipal, Karnataka on May 7, 2017. ASSET Summer Programme is an exclusive 21-day residential learning module for gifted students of grades 7-9. 135 students who qualified from all over India on the basis of their performance in the ASSET Talent Search assessment will be attending the programme.

ASSET Talent Search is an annual international talent identification test conducted byEducational Initiatives. It is a ‘higher level test’ (meaning that students have to answerquestions which are 2 grade levels above their own, an internationally accepted procedureto identify giftedness). Even writing the ASSET Talent Search is by invitation – restricted to the top-performing students in EI’s ASSET. The students performing at the top of ASSETTalent Search are invited to participate in ASSET Summer Programme, making it the mostexclusive gifted students’programme in this part of the world.

Our ASSET test has been used by schools for over a decade to know how well children understand and comprehend key concepts. This year’s ASSET Summer Programme will o�er 10 courses on subjects ranging fromArchitectural Design andDigital Storytelling toMathematical Way of Knowing and Computational Modelling of Genetics and Evolution. Students choose one of thesecourses and learn from faculty members who are experts in their field, with degrees fromleading institutions like the IITs, Indian Statistical Institute, Stony Brook University, Northwestern University, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, etc. During theprogramme, the students will be completing the theme based advanced courses whichprepare them for the world of the future.
