What do we have?

• 860 km of sanitary sewer

• 1,075 km of storm sewer

• 13,000 sanitary maintenance Holes

• 13,000 storm maintenance Holes

• 20,000 catch basins

• 11 pumping stations

Sanitary and Storm Sewers -

Capital & Operating Programs

• The City did not have a well defined, “proactive” capital

program for sewer rehabilitation/replacement

• Operation and maintenance of the sewer network is done

on a reactive basis only

• As the infrastructure ages , the maintenance and

rehabilitation needs increase.

• Establish a condition inspection program

• Develop a tool to aid in the analysis of condition

inspections

Objective:

To spatially represent the observations and defects of CCTV

inspections as GIS point layer

Pipes can connect to structures other than manholes

Typographical errors and incorrect entries

Inspections performed from both upstream manhole

and downstream manhole

Data Verification Model

To identify non-matching pipe material, diameter and length;

invalid or non-existent manhole IDs; invalid connection; multiple

inspection instances

defects in GIS format

segment

Output 3 - Simplified Geospatial user interface and Excel table

for non-GIS users
