The Origin of Lesson Plan

(Gestalt psychology)

“Herbart propounds” the first approach. He stresses on the content and information in a unit plan.

“John Dewy and Kilpatrik” give the 2nd approach. They have emphasized on the experiences of learners in a unit plan rather than information.

Needs and Importance of a Lesson Plan

In teacher – education programmed, the lesson planning provides the guideline to student – teacher during their teaching practices.

In provides awareness of teaching objectives and structure of content and teacher has to perform his activities in the direction to achieve the objectives.

The use of teaching aids techniques strategies and tactics is pre-determined in the presentation of the content.

It maintains the sequence of content presentation and prevents the teachers to deviate from the topics.

The effectiveness of a teacher depends on a good lesson plan. It develop the reasoning and decision making ability.
