Customer: A unique accommodation concept from JUCY New Zealand, JUCY Snooze Christchurch, is located mere minutes from the Christchurch international airport. It is an ideal spot for budget-savvy travelers to rest before or after long journeys, and its Pod concept is a first for New Zealand. A 20-minute drive from the city of Christchurch, where travelers can experience the city’s creative and artistic vibe, JUCY Snooze is also just a short walk from Spitfire Square shopping area. Challenge: When preparing to open the property in late 2016, JUCY Snooze sought to address both its need for advanced security and guest autonomy, and sought out technological solutions that could provide both. The main focus was to cut down on more traditional, and time-consuming, barriers guests often face and become dissatisfied with when checking-in to their accommodations while traveling, in order to boost the guest experience and overall satisfaction. Solution: The JUCY management team ultimately chose to work with ASSA ABLOY Hospitality over other options on the market because of the company’s proven track record in the industry, professional and innovative approach to the project and local support in New Zealand. The Pod-hostel accommodation selected ASSA ABLOY Hospitality’s mobile app in order to implement the mobile access solution in tandem with the VingCard Signature RFID door locks. These locks provide properties with state-of-the-art security, control and accountability that property operators expect from today’s technologies, and that guests, in turn, expect from the accommodations they choose to stay at. Through the use of ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Mobile Access, JUCY Snooze now provides its guests with a highly secure and technologically advanced mode of easy room access during their stay. Backed by secure Seos technology, mobile access assigns guestrooms and creates secure, encrypted digital keys that keeps unauthorized users from gaining access to the keys or rooms. Additionally, the accommodation chose to install check-in stations to eliminate the need for traditional guest check-in, and cut down on check-in queues and time. Results: New Pod-hostel accommodation enhances guest satisfaction and experience with ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Mobile Access. The VingCard Signature RFID door locks and mobile access solution work together to allow guests to use personal smart devices to gain room access, while maintaining safety and security for guests during their stay. JUCY Snnoze is able to move away from traditional service models and offer its guests a barrier-free and technologically advanced way to stay. “Whenever a guest is required to wait in a queue to check-in or pay their bill, it increases the potential for dissatisfaction in the overall guest experience. By utilizing the mobile app and kiosk technology we are able to circumnavigate these traditional issues and offer a way for our guests to take control of their check- in and check-out process.” - Tim Alpe, JUCY CEO
