FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONSIN AGRICULTURAL SCIENTISTSRECRUITMENT BOARD IS26.06.2012(For applications postedfrom abroad and in the Andaman andNicobar Islands, Lakshdweep,Minicoy and Amindivi islands, States/Union Territories in the North-EasternRegion, Ladakh Division of J & KState, Sikkim, Pangi, Sub-division ofChamba, Lahul and Spiti Districts ofHimachal Pradesh, the last date forreceipt of application will be11.07.2012).· The last date for receiptof ‘Through Proper Channel’ copyof the applications containing the‘Certificate of verification by theEmployer’ complete in all respectsin ASRB is 26.07.2012, and non-receipt of the same in ASRB by thestipulated date would result inrejection of the candidature/application of the candidate for thepost(s) concerned.

List of enclosures/documents/certificates to be submitted alongwith the application in the ordergiven below.

1. Crossed Demand Draft {to beenclosed in horizontalposition} for Rs. 500/-, validfor 3 (three) months anddrawn in favour ofSECRETARY, ASRB payableat New Delhi (India). For thecandidates abroad, theapplication fee should beaccompanied with a crossedInternational Bank Draft for US$50 drawn in favour ofSECRETARY, ASRB payableat New Delhi (India). However,the SC/ST/Women/PhysicallyHandicapped (PH) candidatesare exempted from paying theapplication fee.

2. Two envelopes (27 cm X 12cm) {to be enclosed in verticalposition}. On the firstenvelope, name of the postwith Advertisement No. & Itemno. may be given on the top ofthe envelope while name of theForwarding Authority withcomplete office address of thecandidate may be given in themiddle of the envelope. On thesecond envelope, name of thepost with Advertisement No. &Item No. may be given on thetop of the envelope while nameof the candidate and his/her

address for correspondence(residential address) may begiven in the middle of theenvelope.

3. Self attested copies of Date ofBirth, M.Sc. and Ph.D. degreecertificates. (SC/ST/PHcandidates need to enclose selfattested copy of the certificate,issued by the competentauthority in this regard).

4. Photographs at theappropriate space(s) in theapplication form.

5. Application Form (use onlyApplication Form-2010 forDirect Selection” as availablein MS-WORD format on theICAR/ASRB websites).Application of the candidate inany other format will besummarily rejected.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS1. Applications Forms

(Application Form-2010 forDirect Selection), and otherrelevant documents/details canbe downloaded from websites– http:/www.icar.org.in andhttp:/www.asrb.org.in. Thesame can also be provided tothe candidate on his/herrequest to the Secretary,Agricultural ScientistsRecruitment Board, KrishiAnusandhan Bhawan I, Pusa,New Delhi – 110012.

2. For each post, separateapplication form, separate fee,separate ‘No ObjectionCertificate’ and separate‘Vigilance Clearance Certificate’are required to be sent to ASRB.No two applications shouldbe tied together.

3. Application fee is to be remittedby way of Demand Draft only,the candidate should, on theback of the Crossed DemandDraft, indicate his/her name,address, name of the post,advertisement number and itemnumber. It may be noted that noother means of payment ofthe application fee isacceptable, i.e. theapplication fee paid by way ofIndian Postal Orders/MoneyOrders etc. will not beaccepted. The applicationform not accompanied withthe application fee will berejected and the date of theDemand Draft (DD) shouldnot be prior to the date of theissue of the advertisement inthe Newspapers. Further, theDD should be valid for aperiod of three months andthe same valid for less thanthree months will not beaccepted.

4. The prescribed essentialqualifications are minimum andpossessing of same does notentitle candidates to be calledfor interview. The candidateswho qualify on screening ofapplications as per Score CardSystem adopted by the ASRBfor assessing relative merit ofcandidates on the basis ofeducational qualifications,experience, research work,publications, awards etc. willonly be called for interview. Assuch, the candidates are

advised to fill Part B of theapplication form carefully andeach and every column ofapplication should be filled upaccurately because marks willbe awarded on the basis ofinformation supplied by them ineach column. For filling up ofentries relating to publications/other publications (S.No. K andL of the application from)candidates may also refer toNAAS Website(www.naasindia.org).

5. (i) As per ICAR Instructions,applications of scientist holdingRM Positions for anotherequivalent ResearchManagement Position (RMP)under ICAR system may beforwarded after he/she hasrendered two years service inthe existing RMP Post held byhim/her. However, the scientistsnot holding RMP post mayapply any time for equivalentposts involving researchmanagement. However, thisprovision will not be applicableto incumbents of the posts ofDirectors of IARI/IVRI/NDRI/CIFE/NAARM, DDGs and ND,NAIP. Scientists working inhigher grades may not beallowed to apply for a positioninvolving researchmanagement but carrying alower scale of pay even if theadvertisement mentions aboutgranting of higher scale of payto specially qualifiedcandidates. (ii) As per ICARinstructions, the Head ofDivision/Regional Station of theInstitute will not be permitted tojoin or apply for anotherequivalent position within ICARor outside, during the first fouryears of his/her tenure.

6. Short-listed candidates mustappear for personal interview atsuch place, as may be fixed bythe ASRB. Further, summoningof candidates for interviewconveys no assurancewhatsoever that they will beselected. Appointment orders toselected candidate(s) will beissued by Indian Council ofAgricultural Research.

7. Higher initial pay may berecommended by the ASRB forspecially qualified andexperienced candidates for allthe posts.

8. No TA/DA will be paid to thein-service candidates calledfor interview.

9. Crucial date for determining theage limit/educationalqualifications/experience etc. inrespect of the candidates is26.06.2012.

9. ASRB do not enter intocorrespondence with thecandidates about reasons fortheir non-selection for interview/appointment.

10. The option to communicate/reply in Hindi in the interviewexists in the Board.

11. Canvassing in any form willdisqualify a candidate. ---
